No, not really. But not a bad effort, to be fair.

The Escape From City 17 short film series is an adaptation based on the Half Life computer game saga by Valve Corporation. Originally envisioned as a project to test out numerous post production techniques, as well as a spec commercial, it ballooned into a multi part series. Filmed guerilla style with no money, no time, no crew, no script, the first two episodes were made from beginning to end on a budget of $500.

Amazing the way it's possible to make decent-looking special effects on such a tiny budget. Would love to see these guys get a chance to make this movie with enough wedge to hire some decent actors and beef up the visuals.

Thats mad, i would watch a halflife based TV series... just putting it out there powers that be...

Its mad how the effects are just like in the game... almost giving it a new genre of its own.

That's Half-Life 2, not Half-Life.

Not that it matters, mind, since I actually prefer the apolcalyptic city-setting of Half-Life 2.

Argh, I really want to play it again now.

Not that I know of since they're still making the episodes for Half-Life 2. If you've not played them, Episode One and Two are very good, add an extra seven or eight hours of gameplay in total, or thereabouts anyway.

Episode Three is still on the horizon and will probably see a release later this year, but they've not released many details about it yet. It's meant to properly conclude the story arc, though, which has been very good thus far, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
