Haaland at City | Signs new 9.5 year contract

People here thinking City are getting punished. Meanwhile, their players signing decade contracts.

There won't be any punishment for them.

No space for him at Real

Barcelona

Already been in the Bundesliga, and Kane is at Bayern

Serie A and Ligue 1 are a step down from the PL

And City wouldn't sell him to any other PL club, and would he want to jump ship to another rival in the league?

Only surprised at the contract length to be honest.

Exactly. Staying one or two years more was always likely due tot he circumstances you list, but this long is surprising.

But it has to be said: yes he was in the Bundesliga. But he did never win the league nor individual awards, only the Cup. So there is a reason why he could have had interest in replacing Kane some day.

Rolls eyes…

Yeah just a 9.5 year contract nothing to see here

Starting to think the charges are going to do absolutely feck all

Good point actually.

Wait, he never won top scorer in Germany?

Ridiculous. From Haaland's perspective I understand as it is probably a massive amount of guaranteed cash, but only a club with zero financial concern would offer a player a near decade long contract. City are showing the world that their unlimited money cheat code is alive and well.

People who still think they are getting any serious punishment really are deluded. They can do whatever they want and they will continue to do so.

This could equally be seen as them trying to secure everything down before the hurricane hits.

I don't think there's more than a 1% chance that they actually get tossed out of the pl. But if they do I can see them loaning him out for a year or two until they're back.

I thought that the premier league and uefa put a stop to contracts longer than 5 years?
I thought you were able to give long contracts but the fees would be limited to 5 years on accounts rather than whatever length that contract was.

9.5 years is a shrew business

Wages for superstar only goes up. 350k this year is peanuts (relatively speaking) in the 6th year and beyond.

Plus contracts are just a piece of paper. If one party feels it's time they can still move on. It's not written in blood.

Halaand is one of the best striker in the world and tying him up for the next 9 years is a good deal. If he's injured there's insurance I'm sure. If he turns to shit he can still be sold, and they can make him so uncomfortable he'll move on.

They're not dumb.

From Halaand point of view he's gonna be playing for the foreseeable future, he's young and should Madrid comes knocking contract is easy to break either amicably or going AWOL.

Plus he just won a treble. Like it or hate it the only club worth upgrading can be counted with 1 hand and 5 fingers
