Afternoon all.

I am looking to buy a graphics tablet, preferably under £50, the cheaper the better. Can anyone recommend me any decent brands and models? The working area has to be a decent size as well, greater than A6, I'd say.

Thanks in advance.

fantastic, it doesnt have pen tilt sensitivity, but you don't really need that depends what you are using it for
?
I'm taking this online course where I'll be in some 'virtual classroom' with a teacher to help me with some upcoming maths exams in the summer (STEP papers). I'm required to get a tablet, which I assume will be for the handwriting recognition feature as whatever working I write will be digitized and the teacher can check it and whatnot.

I'm also pretty handy with graphics designing, although I don't post up much work but I figure if I can get a half decent tablet then I can improve my skills further, on the side.

An example of a cartoon manip I've done:

Had a guest lecturer from a Uni in Montreal, the 3d and graphic design department head. He advised the Wacom is the best entry level tablet you can get, and also suggested EBay the way to go.

By the way Red Baron, some nice typography on your Deviant Art page.

No, I'm still getting a portfolio together.

I have a very cheap graphics tablet, but with a new baby and PS3 don't seem to find the time to have a proper play about with it.

What size tablet do you have?

I'm looking to get one but think A6 would be too small so am probably looking at A5.

Also, does it make much difference if the tablet is not the same ratio as your screen / monitor? If you have a widescreen monitor, then do you need to get a widescreen ratio tablet?

think mine is a6, and as to the widescreen thing. I think it sorts its self out and it is pretty instinctive as to where you are writing on compared to the screen, I use mine as a mouse also

Might be a rookie question here, but what exactly is the purpose of the mouse that comes with the tablet? There's a slot for a AAA battery and that's it. It's not even optical!

P. S. I love using this handwriting function.
