Film Gran Turismo Movie

Out of all the video game IPs you could pick

I will give the filmmakers props if they make references to the games like seeing the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak rally car in it or any of those Japanese touring cars.

It's a true story though, google Jann Mardenborough

Any of you guys seen it?

Went to see it tonight and really enjoyed it. Almost brought a tear to the eye at the end!

The thing about racing or car movies that I find annoying is -- why do they need to have the deep 'thunk' sound whenever they change gears? It would break most transmission synchros.

The true story it's based on (which I never heard of before) is cool.
This movie trailer looks beyond awful though.

Looked up the director and surprised to see that it's Neill Blomkamp of sci-fi 'District 9' critical acclaim.

This doesn't seem like his bag at all.

I’ve not seen the movie to know what it’s like in this instance, but gated manuals do make a pretty solid clunk on gear change.

Its painful watching that video. The amount of force applied when changing gears.. :nervous: :nervous: Its like a workout for the wrist.

:lol::lol::lol:

Tbf other American car movies are like that. Ford v Ferrari too.

And when they change gear they get a burst of acceleration like they weren't going flat out before.

To be fair to the real guy he wasn't bad, so the story isn't as ridiculous as it sounds. Came 3rd in class at Le Mans.

Ok. I will give it a go.

Cheers!

Amazing 10/10 for me. Definitely not anything like Fast and Furious. This is a real car lovers movie for people who respect the sport.

I want to see this this week, but i find it hard to get into the premise of a couch potato being put into a hundred miles an hour car.

But nevertheless people says it's good and I love GT series.
