Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

United go Stateside

Manchester United's games will soon be shown in America after the club's official station MUTV clinched a deal with Yankees Entertainment and Sports (YES) Network.

The New York-based sports channel will broadcast around 20 of United's Premier League games a year, beginning with the April 20 clash at Chelsea.

The agreement - the first time programming dedicated to a single European club has been broadcast on a US television network - represents another off-shoot of United's deal with the New York Yankees last year.

Well thanks to all who sent email to ESPN -- they worked!

And great news about the YES network -- looks like I'm changing to Direct TV!

Is YES on DirectTv?

Nice one all who emailed ESPN for the Depor match

I think I can get every single game via a combination of DirecTV ch 719, ART Sport 1&2, Yes Network, CTV, & ESPN.

f_cking brilliant YeS Is on channel 622. BTW i e-mailed some company who deals with express vu this was there response

Hello i live in the USA and was wondering if i could receive the
>signal on the bell Express view satellite.
>Is it legal?

Dear Gene;

What follows is a pre-formated answer to general inquiries from the
USA regarding CDN TV reception. It mostly (entirely) concerns
ExpressVu, but the same can also be applied to Star Choice.

If there are questions not answered here, please let us know.

The footprint of the new Nimiq satellites will give you perfect
reception of the ExpressVu service, almost anywhere in North America,
through the standard 18" dish. See http://www.kusat.com/install/foot/
for details.

*However*, you can not subscribe to ExpressVu if you are located
outside Canada.

The only two ways around this limitation would be through
friends/relatives in Canada or through a "programming broker", who
would handle your account.

Either way, the account would be registered under a Canadian address
and phone number.

If you can use the help of relatives, they would receive your monthly
bill in the mail. You may set this bill up for a monthly Credit Card
payment plan. The only other point about such an arrangement is that
your relatives should make calls for programming and other changes
(we would take care of the initial activation on your behalf).

Subscribing through a "broker" implies using a third party services
in order to setup your ExpressVu account. The "broker" will register
your system under a Canadian address, giving you an un-official
access to ExpressVu services. If you would like to use the services
of a broker, mention it to us when placing the order (online or by
phone), to receive the appropriate forms with your system.

The broker we can refer our customers to will charge US$50/yr for the
account maintenance and US$10 when you request something (programming
or payment method change, etc.).

Just when I was going to try this the Yankees come threw in a HUGE way. In order to get this service (YES) you will have to get the extra sport package but I know all N.American based Reds do that already because of FSW. God this is tremendous news for long suffering fans. The only other question is will these be live games? MUTV dosent show the First teams games live. We will have to see either way same day delayed is ok just have to keep off the internet. :)

Fantastic Manufanatic.

The big question is - will Dish Network carry Yes Network. That way, we can get access to all the normal weekly PPV matches, the Yes TV stuff, as well as RAI in Italy, and ART Sport in the middle east. ART Sport 1 & 2 cover alot of Prem and Div 1 matches. That would seem like the best choice. If only we could get ESPN International as well.

Dosent Dish network carry the Fox sport net regional sports networks? IF they do have this option then YES should become part of that package. Currently YES is on channel 622 right now on DIRECTV. I will check dishs website and see what they have to offer.

Looks like msg is on channel 412. According to what i have read YES will be replacing MSG eventually. This should bode well for those who have dish. I would e-mail them and ask that specific question.

Don't forget the other big draw...fecking Corrie on Canadian TV!!! Although I must confess I hardly recognised any one on the show when I saw it at Xmas...except that ciddy supporting speccy twat Curly.

26th was my mom's birthday too

Happy Birthday

 that's amazing, Raoul; incredible when some tell me the US Reds got hardly any coverage three or four years ago. :D Must be a bit costly on you tho, Raoul?

 bloody hell! You'll get more than most Englishmen, but you still want more? :) The phrase, 'beggars can't be choosers' comes to mind. ;)

Yeah things sure looking good. Couple of points to watch out for tho'.
Tuesdays game is at 1:30 NOT 2:30 !!!

YES is on Directv but I can't find it on DISH but FSW are making noise that they have the rights to all APL games in the US and already have said that they'll fight this deal with YES to the end!
Also the games are to have a 2 day delay and with the way we've had it this year we've been able to see just about every EPL game live or couple of hours delay.
I would hope that ESPN listened to us but it would have been criminal of them not to show this game.
Agree with you Raoul about ESPN International. When I was in Malysia I saw all the games United played in the CL and the PL. It was better than FSW.
Tomorrow's game is tape delayed by 3 hours so stay off the net if you want to watch it live! I sure will.
Great week coming up. Can't wait.

Are you sure it's 1:30? You're takling EST right? I think ESPN shows them at 2:30 no matter what though...

I totally understand your plight GAZZA. WHen i lived in England it was unbelievable the lack of live coverage you have. The game is your national sport and you have to watch a bunch of old football geezers looking at a screen telling you whats going on. I remember one of them being the current caretaker of the pOOL. What does that tell ya. We in the USA want as much united as we can get and we will continue to fight for more and more coverage

When I lived in England I didn't even have Sky !
Just as well I live here now, ehh ? :D

This is what I received when i pressed this site for more information on the legality of these systems Interesting reading!

Dear Sir;

As far as the FCC in the US is concerned, there is no limitation to
receive foreign services.

As far as the CRTC here, they are not concerned since you are not in Canada.

The only real constraint is that ExpressVu will ONLY provide service
if this is done under a Canadian address/phone, etc.

Yes, the receiver comes with a card.

Cost of a 3120 system would be CAN$189, plus CAN$30 for UPS Ground or
CAN$79 for UPS 3 Day (see www.kusat.com/order.shtml for details)

Subscription would start with 2 months of the "ULTIMATE 7" (along
with a $75 programming credit), after which you could downgrade to
Locals + Nets + Sports & More Sports....

Really am thinking about doing this even if YES comes on line, THoughts anyone?
