Good Football Flims

I liked Mean Machine
Goal I and II is ok but McManamanananananan is in it so that spoils it.
Football Factory and Green Street are also decent but more about the fans.
Never seen Escape to Victory

Shit football films: When Saturday comes, Goal, Football factory, Green Street, Mike Bassett: England Manager.

OK Football films: Shaolin Soccer, Bend it like Becks, Fever Pitch, Mean Machine.

Good football films: ID, Escape to Victory, The Damned United.

Great football films: No such thing.

Goal could/should have been so much better. I like how they were given full access to the club facilities, gives a nice authentic feel, shame about the plot holes in the script.

And duffer, you only hate Green Street because your headhunters were totally snubbed :p

I hate Green Street because it was terrible and cringeworthy to watch as a londoner and a football fan. The only thing that makes me like it a bit more than I probably should is the existance of the even worse Football factory.

Have you seen ID? That's how a football holligan film should be done. Not a load of luvvies with terrible fake accents.

I downloaded green street 2 last night. Watch it whenever. I.D. is good. A real oldie

I actually thought Football Factory was a far more realistic account, than Green Street, which is a yanks take on football hooliganism...Embarrasing as feck.
Frodo for feck sake, and the otehr lead has an Aussie accent.

West Ham also turn up at Piccadilly (which is shown as some back street station) and do in about 40 Utd in a little group, and the police don't even turn up :wenger:

Football Factory atleast attempted to show some of the culture that went with it, and is more genuine, using real hoolies as extra's, and seemed to actually do some research before hand. It's ruined somewhat by the dick that is Danny Dyer, meaning loads of cocks prance about swaggering in Burberry caps nowadays.

Shadwell, Shadwell!

Fahkin love you gumbo!

A film called 'Away Days' is due for releae in the enxt few months.

I believe it follows Tranmere Rovers in the late 80's, and is suppose to be a quality representation of the football culture at the time.

ID is a good shout.

You're probably right about Football factory being better than Green Street. I just can't watch Danny Dyer in anything without wanting to throw things at my TV.

Watch green street 2, you'll love it!

There are no good football films.

But if the Damned United is half as good as the book, it will be well worth a watch.

Out of that list I recommend Fever Pitch, ID, Escape to Victory and Shaolin Soccer

Football Factory and Mean Machines are watchable

The rest are shite (not seen The Damned United) and if you think the Hollywood version of Goal! was bad then you should see the Bollywood version which is all about the exploits of Southall United

I just realised that no one ever mentioned this classic footy movie ...

:nervous:

Forgot about ID. Perry Fenwick the legend!!! Probably the best one out there. The Danny Dyer generation of footy films are all absolute horse shit and embarrassing . feck off Frodo who are you gona batter?

The "GOAL" movies are pure fecking garbage.
I'm really looking for the next Eric Cantona movie which will be in competition in "Festival de Cannes".
