If so, just get a cheap wireless one - if it supports g wireless protocol and wpa security, it will be more than enough for your home set up.
Yeah, through Virgin, meaning I'd need one that supports Ethernet I presume.

If you're wanting wired, pretty much all will work
and are cheap as chips if wired...my suggestion is, wired one, and then use homeplugs (but they're not so cheap tbh)

What's wrong with wireless? Far tidier, especially if his pc is on t'other side of the house.
Well, if a wired one is cheaper will get that.....they're about 6 foot from each other!

For what the PS3 needs to do it is perfectly sufficient, unless you want to pipe 1080p video over your network.
I use wireless. You don't need a 100% connection and there isn't a difference from wired . . . until you lose connection mid-way through a game.
For one of these routers, how much should I be paying? PC World and Maplins were trying to flog me ones for 70 quid!!

Yes offcourse, it can handle speeds of up to 16 mbps.
Its going on about ADSL though, and needs to be plugged into the phoneline. With Virgin its cable....
It works with any provider as far as i am concerned, i had manipulated around 6 broadband providers and it worked fine with any phone line i was recieving. With Virgin basically being NTL, i use to have ntl a while ago; i had no problems with it what so ever.
How did you set it up then? I don't use a phoneline, therefore rendering the ADSL filter useless.
Do you already have a cable modem? If so, then you don't need a router with a telecomms connection, just a WAN port.
