Golden Globes, Oscars and all that business

They love themselves, Oscars arent for a while. They mean far more than the Golden Globe, people brag about Oscars, not Golden Globes

Heath Ledger just won the award for best supporting actor ... Chris Nolan accepted on his behalf. Big standing ovation from the audience. Hope he gets an oscar nomination as well.

The Boss predicably won best song for "The Wrestler".

Got this on in the background.

Sacha Baron Cohen just made a pretty good Madonna/Guy Ritchie joke. The crowd not impressed. They do take themselves seriously, don't they?

"This recession is affecting everyone, even celebrities.
Victoria Beckham hasn't eaten anything in 3 weeks.
Charlie Sheen has been forced to have sex without paying for it.
And even Madonna has had to get rid of one of her personal assistants. Our thoughts go out to you Guy Ritchie."

Slide 22/23 he will, would be shocked if he doesnt, who is his competition. God was that a good movie too!!!

Yeah, but you can never tell with the Oscar bastards .... I'm sure the snotty feckers think it being a super-hero movie and all, that the 'The Dark Knight' was too "mainstream" for their liking. Would be a travesty if he wasn't atleast nominated.... but all the buzz seems to indicate that he will get his due.

He'll get the nom for sure, the win more than likely imo; Best picture will be interesting though

Competition - Well, from what I've read Ralph Fiennes and Josh Brolin are the ones who might stand in his way.

I think Hollywood will go sentimental and it will be a landslide to him, wonder who will accept it, though.

Yeah ... just what I was thinking too. Don't know if they'll have the guts to give it the nod for Best Picture. 'Slumdog Millionaire' seems to be the favorite .... its just picked up the biggies at the Globes. I've seen the first half of the movie and wasn't all that impressed by it.

I think the Dark Knight will get nominated maybe win at the Oscar's Lord of the Rings won a few years ago.

It would be great to see TDK win, imo it will get a nom, but not win Ledger will win though

Have a ganders at this slideshow thing on this link; scroll through the pics, skip past Drew Barrymore's daft hair and Cameron Diaz's ugly, old man-esque face and look at the very last pic, number 33.
Is this the little girl from Californication and also, what the feck? Is she an inbred or summat? She looks all googly-eyed and mongular.....
