Never seen a goal like this.

Apparently she called this goal “el camaroncito” which translates to “the little shrimp”?

No idea how it would even cross your mind to attempt that let-alone pull it off.

That's a great goal. Didn't really know what she did on the first watch

Zlatan could do that if the opportunity arose, but that kind of agility and wherewithal is extremely rare in conventional football. You’ll see that kind of stuff in beach football and Sepak Tekraw:

Exceptional from a normal footballer, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if she plays beach footy at a minium, or more likely does some kind of martial art or agility based exercise, which would make such movements pretty simplistic for her.

Absolute fluke. I’ll believe she meant it when she does it again, I don’t believe she would be able to.
There’s no way she would know where that ball was going.
Garnacho has tried his Everton one half a dozen times since and is lucky if he hits the ball at all.

Doesn't mean it was a 'fluke' when he did get it right.

I'm just amazed that Fabio Quagliarella's never scored that goal, now we know it's possible.

(I'm sure someone somewhere must have, though: )

These are not in any way equivalent statements.

I think she might have used her eyes, in fairness. You can catch it on the replay.

I think the way she flings herself at the ball makes it look more like a fluke than a clean overhead kick does. Despite them both being technically incredible.

Brilliant. Surely that's goal of the year wrapped up? This is better than the winner from most years.

I believe that whenever a player attempts any bicycle kick, they aren't placing it in a particular corner, they are just aiming it on target and hoping for the best.
There I said it.

Precisely the definition of throwing a leg out. She contorted her body to get any contact she could on the ball and it happened to be the perfect touch.

Fun to watch though.

I'm struggling to believe she meant that, honestly. It's such a bizarre attempt at a finish, literally nothing about it makes sense. If she did mean it, then yeah - goal of the year.

I hope she meant it, would make it an outstanding goal. Only she knows and guaranteed that if it were me, I would say I meant it, even if I didn't!

I don't think I follow some of the logic here at all. What do people imagine that she's even trying, if she didn't mean to score?

People talking about how she didn't mean to put it where it ended up... But it's not just bicycle kicks and the like -- oftentimes players hit a ball without a clear idea of where it's going to go, instead focusing on making good contact and keeping it on target. I believe Paul Scholes has said as much about his goal against Barcelona in 2008; he was aiming for goal, but he didn't know it was going to swerve away from the keeper and into the top corner. Acrobatic goals just get given the 'they didn't mean it' treatment because they are so rare and spectacular.

I always imagine that the top of the women's game could be a lot more gymnastic than the men's. My thinking would be some kind of cartwheel goal or maybe a backflip.

Great use of her body to score that. Chicharito esque.

It's neat, but its five yards out. Might make a reel or two, thats about it.
