Gillette Soccer Saturday 'Goal Of The Premiership'

A: Dalian Atkinson vs Wimbledon

If I was to choose the best ever premiership goal, I would choose Antony Yeboah vs Wimbledon. That was so good. He used both knees to set himself up and then smashed it past Paul Heald in the Wimbledon goal.

David Beckham Vs. Wimbledon for many reasons.

a)

Amazing strike of the ball and players have since said they can hardly hit that far and so high while Beckham did not even run up, just like he was passing the ball.

b)

The vision and sight he used was amazing, how many players would spot the keeper in the sunshine a few yards off his goaline?

c)

Terrific way to start the season. Last minute, day one, and that was a nice start to Uniteds' winning season.

d) It introduced a new hero.

Arguably a better goal than the Liverpool one. This was the second of a hat trick for Yeboah and it again came as he collected a loose clearance. Despite taking the ball past a defender, it`s fair to say that he never had it under total control, yet from fully 30 yards he cracked a half volley towards the top corner and again found the underside of the bar and again it flew into the back of the net, this time past Paul Heald who dived but had little hope of reaching it.
