Have one of you silly mods banned members having their gmail account on their profile?

hotmail, yahoo, msn, gmail, lycos, etc were all shut out about 6 months back to make it more difficult for bannees to keep yoyoing.Gazza said:so's the hotmail one I have registered
PM us the address Gazza and I'll try and do it from the admin control board, it's not supposed to be an inconvenience to existing members, merely a barrier for the complete and utter members we also seem to attract here.Gazza said:I try changing my registered address to my gmail one and it says its banned. I've never used it to send the mods pranks or nuffink.

I'm sure they do.Big Andy said:who cares...
Mine doesn't. I have a university e-mail though.dangercat said:Does your ISP not always at least give you one email? They have to, to contact you etc
They should get a real one. The vast majority of WUMs we get use free e-mail accounts to register, by blocking them we make it harder to get in repeatedly. Genuine posters shouldn't be afraid to use a real e-mail address rather than the more anonymous free services.Ern said:But what if a new poster only has a free e-mail address?
Hmm. I suppose that's fair enough, then.Bury Red said:They should get a real one. If a free account is really all that a genuine poster has access to then they can always e-mail Niall and ask to be allowed in. He has doen this a couple of times to my knowledge.
