Glazers fire Jon Gruden!

The Tampa Bay coach was 6 years removed from a Superbowl win, very well liked coach and this took everyone by surprise in Yankeeland. Something to ponder for future United managers?

I'd sack SAF if he won nowt for six years.

The Bucs caved at the end of the season when it seemed the playoffs were a lock. He inherited the Super Bowl team anyway. He hasn't really done shit since that win either, and he's caused some discord among the players. As a coach I like him, but I'm glad we got rid of him. It's time for some new blood.

nah its a different kettle of fish, theres plenty of trophies fergie can win, just the one for the NFL teams.

I am only a casual fan at best when it comes to NFL and catch it now n then.

But have the Bucc's suffered from a lack of investment or something like that since Glazer took us over?

It's not really that shocking, Shannahan getting the ax was shocking, the Bucs have been shit for a while and were 9-3 and didnt make the playoffs. He did win them a Super Bowl, but it was largely with a team he inherited from Tony Dungy. Has no bearing on Manchester United either

Don't forget he basically won because the team he faced was the Raiders, who he just left the year before. So he basically knew their entire playbook and the exact strengths and weaknesses of the players. Ridiculous to compare him to Fergie. This is more like firing Roy Keane.

No not really, you have to pay the market value for players contracts whenever you draft them. I dont think they were aggressive in going after top free agents though, but they just had shitty quarterbacks for years and it caught up with them!

I'd fecking take him in Dallas over that useless Phillips.

Dallas would be a good fit for him. He is good at making a qucik impact but players get tired of listening to his shit after a couple of years.

Wouldn't surprise me if he had one or two good years elsewhere before getting fired again.
