Interesting article <a href="http://sport.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2002/09/30/sfncha30.xml&sSheet=/sport/2002/09/30/ixfooty.html" target="_blank">here</a>

Hasn't scored at OT for over three years.

.one in three years and one month, which came against Coventry 15 months ago.

I think you read it wrong, he last scored in 2001 against Coventry City, a 4-2 home win.

And if I remember rightly, it was a trademark Giggs header - a looping header over the keeper from the edge of the box.

Is that the right one, guys? My memory isn't what it was! <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Yup, the Coventry goal was his only Premiership goal at OT in three years with his last one before that coming against Newcastle in August 99.

In the same period he has scored 4 in Europe at OT with goals against Maccabi Haifa, Deportivo, Olympiakos and Bordeaux.

I don't think the statistic means a great deal however as Giggs has never exactly been a prolific goalscorer averaging 10 a season, his supply has always been more critical to the team as he showed in the second half against Charlton where he opened their defence on several occasions and had a hand in all the goals.

Maybe the dearth of recent Premiership strikes shows a change in the way defences set out to play at OT with Giggs being stifled by massed defences and forced to run into the middle whilst away from home teams allow him more freedom to run at them down the wings through their more open game plans. Certainly in Europe where most teams arrive to play rather than defend, his goals ratio is similar both home and away.

Giggs may not be one of the most prolific of goals scorers but he is just superb at opening up tight defences, our best player together with scholesy against Charlton, 2 assists and 1 goal, what more can you ask for?
