Doubt this will happen but in the Sun today.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2002532044,00.html

I doubt it too but he has to be able to take the flack as well as the praise and £20m is too cheap.

I'd take it, its a good price in this market for an aging winger, and one who's underperforming and been demoted from vice-captain.

It hurts to say it, but I would take it too.

Spend it on a good up and coming winger that's still got pace and a lot of hunger.

Who that should be though, foreign or not, I don't know.

me too. take it and use the money to buy a direct replacement - Duff of the pudding eaters.
you think 20mil is cheap for Giggs? he must be 30 soon.
maybe if SAF made it known to him we'd accepted a bid like this and it was up to Ryan whether he wants to leave or stay, we might see him get back his old hunger and freshness for the cause.

If SAF is planning a rebuilding process, we must face the rea;ity that players such as Giggs, who have done so well for us for years might be the ones to be sacrificied to bring in new fresh blood.

In todays current transfer climate, £20m would be a very tempting bid.

if we did rid of Giggs we should try and get Joaquin from Real Betis (before Real Madrid get their hands on him) as a direct replacement, the guy is unbelievable.

Trouble is, I've never seen the kid play on the left.

What's their team at the moment, and why's it so good? I haven't watched them this season yet.

It's good because their defence is as solid as ever, and their attack is far more powerful than it was before.

Saying that, they did a United at weekend and got beat by the bottom placed team.

Aimar and Baraja are fanstastic going forward.

They've also got two very promising players in Vicente and Mista.

Rufete is a very good player.

Karew is a total donkey though IMO.

Carew is the man to be replacved if Valencia have a weakest point. Gangly Norwegian, reminds me of Niall Quinn or that german Beer-off. streak of piss with a head at the top to aim at in the box.
may as well play a fugging boggbrush at CF.

Playing very well this season though if you've been watching him. not United standard, it must be said.

But Aimar? feck me! World Class!!!

Offloading Gaizka Mendieta was the best bit of business they ever did IMO.

Interesting when you compare it to the question of us moving out a key player, say Giggs. Mendieta, although born in Bilbao (that's why he's gt a wierd first name, Basque you see), he spent his tenage years in Castellón (Valencia) and played for Castellón before moving to Valencia proper. He considers himself a Valencian as did the supporters. Still got rid of him though, even though a lot of supporters were not happy with the decision at the time. Excellent decision, they play much better without him IMO.

What positions are Mista and Rufete?

Mista is a forward. Rufete is a midfield player. Plays on the right normally.

I would put Aimar on the same level as Zidane, Rivaldo and Totti. His form in 2002 has been outstanding.

Vicente is the best up-and-coming left winger around. Anyone who's relegated Speedy Gonzalez to the bench so many times has to be special.

Watch them take Arsenal apart too. ;)

Agreed, he's still quite raw at the moment though. He just needs to get a lot of matches under his belt to sort that out though. He tries to dribble it too much in situations when a one-two with a central midfield player would be the better option of getting down the wing. He'll learn.

Spain are going to be something to contend with in the future with him on the left and Joaquin on the right.

no argument with that, Weaste.
this Valencia side excite me, ever since theyb started coming together a few years ago and doing well in the CL, now they are looking like more of their players are the finished article or near as to be a right fkkn threat to the big nobs in the CL this year.
Valencia - nicest city i've ever lived in, even if it was only for three months. :) exchanged scarves with a barman valencia fan, they like us Devils out there in Castellon aye!

I just hope they dont come across Real Madrid, as they will probably bottle it again.

I dont know mate, he plays in Italy for Parma doesn't he? I don't get the chance to watch a lot of Italian football.

Ryangiggsisnumber1 would be able to give you an honest opinion on him, if you can get hold of him that is. ;)

top of my list of places to revisit though.

I don't know how I get away with it sometimes.

Rather than get 20 mil from Inter I would swap Giggs with Recoba.

Hell no! Rather have the money.

WeasteDevil,

Seeing as you are the main man as far as La Liga is concerned, what do you make of Reguiro(?) of Racing Santander. I saw one game of his where Racing beat Real Madrid at home and he looked really good - taking players on, good left foot, quality crosses, pacey. Nice age at 24. Wouldn't think he'd cost too much. What do you think of him? Or did I just catch him on a good night.

From what I've seen, and I've not seen him that much TBH with R Santander being in the second division last season and I've only seen them twice this season (I think), Regueiro seems to be a decent enough player. Whether he is good enough for us I don't know. I'd have to watch him a bit more.

I'll ask my Catalan football nut mate tonight about him and see what he thinks. He usually watches every game, whether Pay Per View repeats on videos and football channels.

I'll get back to you on this. My gut feeling though is that he's not of the right calibre to be a United player.

Thanks WeasteDevil.

To add further fuel to the Giggsy fire, did anyone else read Giggs saying he prefers playing for Wales now rather than us? (OK, I see i has been posted in the main forum)

i hope ryan stays at the club! it wouldnt be utd without flying ryan! id cry if he went!
