Read this from 4thegame:
Ryan Giggs will never say never but the Manchester United star admits he is unlikely to be tempted away from Old Trafford.

The Wales winger has been linked in the Italian press with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan and, while he is flattered by the idea, Giggs insists his heart is in Manchester.

"To be linked to a big team is always a great pleasure," he said.

"But these are just words and not facts. Last year I signed a contract with Manchester United until 2006.

"I was tempted but now I think I'll end my career with Man United."

However, after watching Jaap Stam hurried through the Old Trafford exit when he moved to Lazio, Giggs knows the final decision is not his but Sir Alex Ferguson's.

"At Manchester United there is no room for sentimentality," he said.

"If Ferguson decides for the sake of the team to sell a player, he will do it, as happened a while ago with Jaap Stam."

How convincing is that? Is it just me that can see a subtext in his quotes?

this is taken from della sport from italy so dont beleave any of it

Where did the quotes first come from?

they just make them up

like they did a month or so ago

they are worse than our papers over there

Giggs will remain to be a Red. He may only leave when he is 34 and want to finish his career in a lesser club (just like Irwin).

The Inter chairman was quoted to say that he will submit a "significant offer" for Giggs sometime in next summer.

Giggs was right to say that his fate lies in Fergie, and with his recent slump in form the odds are heavily stack against him. Like all die-hard Giggsy fans, I think he deserves anothe chance.

Does anyone knows what giggs said when Cuper made an public invitation.
These are his near exact words
"manchester united is a big club.iam happy to be here.i dont want to play for any other team.
if i stop playing for united it means i've stopped
enjoying football"..
its is not healthy on the part of us to slam giggs
cos he did'nt perform well in some matches. And also to speculate that SAF would dump him cos he
did'nt start him in the playing eleven.
Giggs is a class player.what he needs is rest.
he will be back ....have faith

everyone in this room has a positive outlook.. THANK GOD!!! I had thought almost everyone had given up on our boy Giggsy...Yes.. he will be back... And cheers to all of you who have been faithful! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Giggs will be back...we just have to give him some time...he seems to be in a slump at da moment... his poor form could be a mangement decision that doesn't suit his style of play and he also could be trying to avoid being injured. Maybe thats why he doesn't take on defenders much anymore...but have faith in him..he will be back and i dont think he ever will leave UNited IMO...

Who can forget what Giggs has done for us! He is our most talented player since Geroge Best, a very loyal servant and has excellent behaviour on and off the field. I think every United fans will give him time and truly hope he can regain his form.

Giggs, it's certainly an interesting situation.

United may well sell him for the right offer. I think it's fair to suggest he hasn't performed on a regular basis for us for some time now. During our good run he didn't stand out as one of the players making things happen imo.

Gone seem to be the days where he'd roast the opposition by going past them, all he seems to do now is cut inside (this infuriates me no end).
Even if he does get thru the final ball is usually poor.

I'm not suggesting we sell him, on his day there is no finer sight, it's just those days don't happen as often as they should, Fergie will know this better than anyone.

I suspect a substantial offer would be enough to tempt Fergie into letting Giggsy go. Perhaps he feel that its time to move on, freshen things up a bit.

agree completely with you C1.
he hasnt performed consistently for a while now, in fact i believe that a new challenge might be best for his own career.
If Inter want to make a silly offer like 20m for a 29 year old then i think United should snap their hands off. Theyd be able to buy a quality, hungrier, younger player for that money.
Duff or kewell spring to mind as the obvious candidates.

i agree with your oul man 26
i honestly think we've seen Giggs best in a United shirt. He's been chugging along for the last 3 seasons, giving us the the occasional glimpse now and again but not consistently.
He struggles to beat his men these days & he couldnt cross a road.
no doubt he'll play a cracker on new years day to make me look a muppet, but ill be happy if he does.
I like Giggs, i just think that perhaps we've had the best out of him now.
Im glad its Fergies decision

Giggs was the only current Utd player to appear in that Michael Crick documentary earlier in the year. Can't imagine 'Ferguson' being happy about that.

£20m ? Bite their hands off and thank Giggsy for all those fantastic memories

Whether Giggs already has his best or not can only be proved by the future. I simply don't believe the rumour Fergie is going to offload him at all. Since Giggs just had a couple of bad matches, it made people think he has already passed it. Giggs did have some good matches and scored quite a number of goals at the start of the season. Now he has a dip of form, we should get behind him and hope he can regain his form asap.

Giggsy we all love ya!!! You are RED through and through. But the club is much bigger than any player. Its always hard to see family leave, but we have to let you go sometime..let it be now while the fond memories lingers. And give the Italians a taste of your magic while you are there.

In the meantime. on the business end of things, I hope we pocket no less than 20 million pounds for Giggs PLUS two players of good calibre for good measure..

People keep saying how good is this business if they can cash in 20m+ for a 29 years old. Jaap Stam might be right. Players were really being treated like a pile of meat these days. Imagine one day your boss suddenly told you you were being sold to another company in Alaska and you must pack your luggages and go there tomorrow.

For a player who have been 100% loyal and given his best in 10+ years in this club, I think he deserved more respect from the fans than that. I just feel that I'll be very sad to see Giggs being forced out like that.

Gigssy has had about 2 good games all season.

This is absolute bollocks! This must be the sixth time Inter have put these stories out, obviously trying to unsettle Giggsy. I've got a few questions
1. Who is going to dosh up £20m for Giggs these days?
2. Who is going to replace him. We have always stuggled with this, and I can't see the situation improving.
3. Is Giggs the only player to have struggled this season? No! So why is he top of the list to be binned!
4. Giggs has always been inconsistent, but he is one of the few players in the world who can turn a match single handed, and can make a world class full back look like a prick.

Come on, we've been patient with Seba, Diego, and Keano, let's do the same for Giggsy!

At the end of the day Giggs is paid phenomenal amounts of money.Yes he loves the club and the club has set him up financially for life. Players are equally as mercenary in squeezing the club for the best deal ( a la Beckham).

It's hardly a case of him being tossed aside (if indeed the move is a reality). Giggs won't go anywhere unless he agrees, he still has a 4 year contract.

If he goes (big if) I think Fergie is sending out a serious message to the team. I think the nucleus of the side (class of '92) feel they are untouchable. Keane has stated many times that too many players are coasting. Too many have taken as fact that they will finish their careers at Utd without recognising that are only as good as your last game at this club.

Fergie is frustrated that many of his big names come back fit and Utd hit another mini-slump. Maybe, this him getting serious and breaking up the side to form his 4th team?

Giggs has made very clear that he have absolutely no intention to leave, so may be it is the end of this story.

I'd hate to see Giggs go but if that's what the lad needs (a new challenge) then go for it, and light up Italy.
