Giggs Golden Boots

Did Giggsy get his boots finished in real gold?? It looks like maybe he did because they seem to be too heavy for him at the mo. He should get rid of them because the way he has being playing it looks anything but gold. I do however hope that he gets his mind out of fantasy land and gold boots, and returns to doing what he used to do for United and that was to rip the opponents defence to shreds. Come on Ryan wake up what good are gold boots that do feck all??

harsh, after all his service to the club and his performances this season (esp. v Deportivo).

I think he has had a good injury-free season.

His services to the club are in the past for which he has been well payed. At the moment he looks very out of form and needs a time on the bench. It is no good if you leg it up the wing and do nothing at the end. O'Shea has been better on the wing than Giggs over the last few weeks. But having said all that. I still hope that he gets back to his best, because if he manages to do that then we again have the best winger in Europe. So all I am saying is come on Ryan get back to your best please, we need you at your best.

Have you been watching the same games as I have? He's had a decent season, some games better than others. The game is not that easy that he can just roast players all the time. He's doing a good job, plenty of assists and a few goals.

Fact is he is not performing as good as we know he can and needs some competition for the position. And F... U 2 farawayminds. Giggs can do better than he has being doing recently. If he does manage to get in front of goal he will either shoot wide or blast over. But I hope that he becomes his old self again because then he is top class. You trying to tell me that he is as good as ever??? We know what he can do and all we want is for him to do it. He will have to do it in the latter stages of champions league and I like to believe and hope that he will.

You must be watching different matches than the rest of us. The last few games Giggs has been a terror out on the pitch. He is doing all the little things that help set up the plays the others finish. You are either not watching the same matches or you need your eyes checked.

So do you think he is as good as he was maybe 3 seasons ago?

He has matured as a player. Sure he does not score as prolificly as he did, but now, he is making the important plays to help his team make the important goals. His chances have come, (six goals aren't just handed to you.) and they will continue to. Inbetween, he has become a better all around player. What does this matter anyways? The team has won 7 straight in all competition and that is not because of any one player, but because they are a team.

Strange time to be criticising Giggs, just when he's started to play better. I thought he played his best game in quite a while against Deportivo.

That has been my point too, to bad some would rather find so called deficiencies and dwell upon them.

Well, I can't say I haven't criticised Giggsy myself this season(forgive me ). But I don't think this is the time to be doing so. I don't think any of the players warrant criticism at the moment.

We are on a nice winning streak, our main rivals are stumbling about, it's nearly Christmas. Life is good!

Criticizing a player when they deserve it is one thing, but when they are doing as well as United is right now, is really pointless. Seven straight wins in all competition as I said, is hardly time to become a critic.

May I make one small criticism of a United player?

Get your hair cut Becks!! :)

In one of the papers they put a photo of Becks on Saturday up next to a photo of Rod Stewart playing a couple of years ago. Their haircuts were almost identical the way they flowed in the wind. Quite shocking it was.

If he's going for the Rod Stewart look, I guess it would be Old Spice.

from the tone yours, you come across as someone like the arse wenger!! "United is not our rival!' He cant (either too ignorant or too arrogant!) even see the beautiful football our lads are playing at the moment! Well, write off United at your peril!

Well, write off Giggs at your peril!! Like others have said, you were not watching the same games as us!! Or you were not watching at all? His contribution in our last few weeks success are proof we are still having one of the best players in the world! Not on form????? Are you blind? (like wenger?) Or just turning a blind eye (like wenger?)

In one interview (before our recent streak of wins), Giggs was told some fans who have memeories of the teenage giggs glying down the wing without a care in the world want to see more of those. To that, giggs answered, "you cant do that, especially in european games, or in league games because teams are so much more clued up now."

United players are probably one of the most 'watched' on video (more often on slow mo!)by other teams (managers) and most targetted!!! They come to old trafford to play thier games of their lives and when win, to them it's like winning the league!

Thank god we have the best manager in the world, who has the vision and keep faith in players he knows can do best for him.

Yea write Giggs off, write Phil Neville off, write Beckham off too for that matter. Hell write the whole team off, we thrive on being the underdogs ( ask Liverpool and Arsenal) in the end we will be the ones having the last laugh.

this is a TOTALLY RUBBISH post. either you are really that ignorant or you are just trying to get attention.

Imagine blaming giggs'form on his boots...

True our team has been performing brilliantly over the last weeks and that is fantastic. But I still maintain that Giggsy is not himself recently, he still makes the odd fantastic run, but when he gets to the goal he usually misses. Now do not think I have anything against Giggs I just hope he gets his best form back because at present he does not have it. I hope he makes me eat my words soon, preferably tonight. I am a United fan since 1967 and have never been a fan of anyone other than United. I remember the bad days as well as the good and I support Giggs 100% and am always thrilled when he turns defenders inside out.

giggs' finishing was never good to begin with. He's better with assisting. bTW, Giggs is my favourite player too, lets hope he turn in a fine performance tonight against chelsea, providing he plays.

Its a differnt Giggs now from the one 3 seasons ago and the sooner some people accept that the better. Just because he isn't flying down the flank and scaring shit out of full backs doesn't mean that he isn't a vital part of the team. Ryan is still a very important player to us and i'd rather have him in our line up than anyone else's

He comes inside too much now. Defenders can't handle pace, and running at defenders is what he does best. Against Depor I thought that he had a great game, but I find watching Giggs very frustrating. We all know what he's capable of, but he rarely does it. The standard of crossing at United has been poor for a while now, Giggs needs to be taking the ball down the byline and delivering crosses deep into the box now that we have someone like RVN who is likely to get on the end of them!

He is still capable of scaring defenders to death but he although he's still quick he doesn't have the lightning pace of a few years ago but that is understandable. Injuries, age all take their toll but his play at the moment is still excellent.
