Not to jinx it or anything, but we have won all the games since Giggs took over as captain if i'm not mistaken.

He hasn't outshone anyone, but he seems to be our lucky star somewhat. i'd like to see giggs keep the armband until Keane returns - even if Becks is back before Keane.

any opinions?

I would not mind Gary Neville having it for a game or two, if only to allow him the chance to break his jinx. ;) But, sure, why go against something that is working? By all means, let it be Giggs. :)

Sorry to rain on the parade but I personally thought Giggs was totally ineffective yesterday. I cannot remember the last time he attacked the full-back and before we talk about cementing his role as Captain (until Keano's back) he needs to find some form.

i did say i didn't think he outshone anyone..

but since he was vice captain last year, it was sort of nice to see him as captain again. it does give the feeling that all is well again at OT. if you know what i mean...

I didnt matter who was the captain yesterday.

A captain's job is to motivate his players, and if anyone needed motivating today they must have serious problems. ;)

Yeah he had a rather quiet game with regards to his high standards.

But then again, the most dfficult thing he did was to decide the coin's toss and shake Pat's hand. ;)

i don't think he was all terrible.. he's been pretty much what he's been this whole season - playing out of position, and not coping very well with it.

Nah i didn't say he was lousy. Just that on a night where most played above their normal selves, Giggsy had a quiet game.

Of course we cant ignore the fact it's a team game n he did put in his share of effort for that win.

However, most players are playing out of position at the moment, and its no excuse IMO. Me just hope he turns it on sooner rather than later. :D

i agree with you here.. but then if giggs can't adapt like the others then he should be put back to where he plays best.. i'm not sure that playing him where he doesn't like will help with his confidence and how it will affect us as a team in the long run..

altho him getting the armband back must have raised his morale more or less.

Giggs is a red and i'm sure he'll produce some magical form again soon.

Giggs has been poor all season, but in our last 2 league games ie Liverpool and Arsenal who coincedentially our our 2 main rivals he has been found lacking. Maybe Fergie should give him a breather so he can perhaps recuperate and get back to the form we know he is capable of.

He had a good start to the season but has struggled of late. I don't know what it is but he's not been effective in any of the last 4 or 5 games. Probably needs a rest after his efforts for wales though this is the most consecutive number of games he's played for us for a while.

giggs was the only player to look light weight and unbothered IMO.... the rest were stars against the gooner scum...
