I just thought I'd recommend this show (two episodes are on Iplayer right now). It's not laugh out loud funny but it has an indefinable quality. Essentially it's about a ward for the elderly in the modern NHS. But I think it does a very good job of capturing and satirising the pseudo private-sector mentality of some of the staff. This is contrasted by Jo Brand's character who seems to embody the "old NHS" where people were still treated like people and common sense ruled over mindless bureaucracy. All in all worth a watch, even if (like me) you are sceptical of anything written and performed by Jo Brand.
