The here and now...
I note the new posting rules set out in this part of the forum and they all seem pretty spot on to me .

One small request though mate. Could you perhaps consider altering point four to read as follows:

"No racism, bigotry or comments suggesting child abuse- We will enforce this...etc"

As you know this is ONE thing that has pissed off not just me but a number of other posters. I was grateful for your intervention when the subject was last broached , when you said something along the lines of "leave the kids out of it!" However now that you are making some ground rules it seems a good opportunity to set the record straight.

Thanks

You may have seen my comments on the same topic EVC in the KK thread

I hope your suggestion is taken up toot sweet

I'm reading a cracking book at the moment. It's called "Living with AIDS" by EricVanCoppell.

Chapter 4 is a real rip-snorter. "How to give your kids AIDS in three easy steps".

If you kept reading you would have got to this rule

* Ignore Function. This forum has an Ignore function. If a particular poster really winds you up, put him/her on ignore.

Appreciate your comments on the ignore button and it can be used successfully but overall the topic EVC is concerned about is far more important than anyone poster. Its IMO certainly more important than references to Munich or other football tragedies and should be stampped on hard but I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen

Well there's also this

* The moderators reserve the right to take action on things which may fall outside those boundaries.

I am not holding my breath on this :D

but as a statement of intent it would be really pleasing to see it put into words If important issues like racism and bigotry can be put into specific rules then this subject too deserves the same importance

No it doesn't.

When a forum is so dominated by one particular poster PLUS his band of merry men it is pointless using the ignore button because there is feck all left to read!

Anyway this thread is addressed to a particular mod, and I respectfully await his response.

For god's sake, this forum is full of biggotry. Any prejudice against an entire group of people is biggoted.

Slabber knows full well that I am a proud Dad with a two year old son. Yet in a thread addressed to one of the Mods he chooses to repeat the insult once more.

I know I'm supposed to "get over it - it's only the internet".

Yet the very posters who have said "it's only the internet" (whilst simulaneously telling me to shag my kid or give him AIDS) are the ones wetting their knickers over Weaste's election (which on a separate note I applaud) and breakaway forums.

For them it is more like "life and death" than an internet forum!!

So with that in mind I am sticking my head above the sand and saying I would prefer if there were some kind of censure of the kind of drivel that Slabber has (helpfully) repeated in this thread.

The ignore button is all well and good - however we are talking about a matter of common decency here, as most of your other "posting rules" also address.

This "kiddies" issue is one that has festered for months. It would be fecking great if you could put an end to it right now.

You also knew full well Slabber would pile in here with his "Kids dying of Aids" shite so why didn't you send this request via a PM to GB?

The ignore feature is there to be used....hopefully, though I doubt it, Slabber might put you on his.

To be honest mate I genuinely thought I might be able to make a simple polite request to GB without this repeated abuse.

I don't subscribe to the PM facility and never have.

I've already tried ignore when I placed Slabber and Jason on it for a couple of weeks - the problem was that virtually every thread made no sense because they feature so prominently across every part of the forum. A thread with gaps all over it is nigh on impossible to read.

Your short response aint really what I was looking for Marching. This seems like an opportune moment to sort this out once and for all, what with GB listing posting guidelines.

My feeling is that it is inconsistent to say that racism and sexism are intolerable (which is damned right) and the comments about kids are ok.

I would still like to hear from GB, ta.

Slabbr i know you two dont get on, but in jest or otherwise wishing someones kids ill or dead is out of order. Yellowcard.
