was my man of the match (well, untill our Ginger God moved back into centre midfield anyroad!)

didn't put a foot wrong in both attack and defence.

eventhough ive not been his biggest fan to say the least, it's a big plus having him back.

Agreed, Scholes MOM but Gary was very good and great to have back. Also a shout for O'Shea, who saved our bacon too often for comfort.

close between scholsey and Oshea for MOM,would give it to Oshea though

I think people are kind of overeacting to Schole's performance tonight. Generally quite poor (or as poor as everyone else) but scores twice at the end is how I saw it. I can't believe people are trying to put the poor performance solely down to Veron again. It's looking for a scapegoat, simple as. We played shit tonight (emphasising 'we') .i.e. the team. Ruud missed from 4 yards, Beckham's and Gigg's crossing was terrible and although Scholsey put himself about a bit more he still failed to deliver the end product for 80 odd minutes. The push at the end came from plain effort and the team did not suddenly mutate into the world beaters for the last ten minutes. They were the same players for the other 80 odd so don't even try to tell me a player who kept possesion as well as well as anybody tonight was the reason the rest of the players couldn't pass to another player in a red shirt. That said though, eveyone worked their bollocks off so no complaints there.

Yeah, and Giggsy, Ruud and Nicky lit up the show didn't they?

Bollox.

i think it was no coincidence that scholes had more time to score twice when coming from midfield. He sees opportunities that our other midfielders dont see, when he breaks from deep. Hes not afforded that luxury when playing off the front man. His overall use of the ball in midfield was pretty good too.
I wouldnt say Veron was completely pants but he just didnt get into the game enough. Everton knew that if they harrassed him they could get the ball back. Unlike Butt & Scholes who are experts at shielding the ball under pressure.
Mickey was pants tonight btw.
I dont know how the hell Becks got the MOM award? his passing in the first half was dreadful. His overall game seems to be suffering from something.
Gary Neville for me, in his first full match back was absolutely outstanding. great support runs, good crosses, complemented by good basic defending at the back. IF keano is forced to give up the armband id prefer to see it go to this man.

I suggested the other day either Gaz or Rio would be more suitable captains in Keanos absence.

Gaz had a great game. And I agree with golden_blunder. Veron didn't have a particularly bad game when you compare his to Becks, Giggs and Butt in the same period of time, the first 60-odd minutes. Maybe Butt was slightly better. There's something not quite right about Becks' game at the moment, something that I can't exactly pinpoint. Maybe he should stick to doing the basics right. When Becks is good, he's really good, and he just hadn't reach that 100% yet. I thought Scholes didn't play particularly well, but was our best midfielder. O'Shea had a good game too. And this is one of the worst games I've seen Silvestre play in for many months. Says a lot about his improvement and performance though.

Gary Neville for captain, if Keano is to stripped of the captaincy.

Vocal, can organise players around him, tactically sound (I've seen him calling out to the forwards to change positions or to play further apart, when it was apparent things weren't working out), keeps everyone on their toes, 110% commitment to the cause. Would die for the club, knows how it hurts the fans when we lose.

Becks is a good ambassador for the club,in the mould of Sir Bobby Charlton. Good player who has become better with the added responsibility of the captaincy.

But I still prefer Gary Neville. And he was the captain of the class of 92.

Spot on

The Neville lad is a legend IMO.
O'Shea looks like the real deal.
Larry had another solid game.
Mickey was terrible, didn't look fully fit.

As for the rest........
Veron had a poor game but so did Bex, Giggs, Scholes and Butt until about an hour in when he was substituted and the whole match changed.

Last night finally convinced me that Veron is not suited to the Premiership. Not hard enough. Might win us the European Cup though with Keano and Butty doing all the hard work.

Gaz has had 2 excellent games since his return. I think the extra time to recover has done him the world of good. Shows that Becks was rushed back too quickly.
