Has moved to a Swiss side Sion.

Weird.

Plenty of Italian speaking cantons in Switzerland and close enough to Northern Italy to get home when he's not playing. Seems a logical decision.

Didn't Sion get banned for fielding inelligible players? They've got quit a lot of money, I think.

I truly thought he was coming to us in the summer of 2006.

I wonder how different things would have been had we signed him instead of Carrick that year?

Sion have a crazy president and a bit of money. Located in nowheresland but close to Italy. Wierd choice nevertheless but good for the League

There is only one italian speaking canton out of 26

I'll go with basically the same results from 2006-07:2008-09, and possibly getting past Milan in 2007, and he might have broken Messi in half in 2009 (getting sent off in the process perhaps). Those sides were basically carried by Ronaldo, Rooney, and amazing keeper and defensive unit, everyone else simply contributed as needed. Gattuso would have done the same.

Ah, Gattuso. The one player I really wanted United to sign in his prime - one of my favorite non-United players.

Well, the presidant changes managers as often as his underwear. Let's see how he does. It is crazy to take such job at Sion under Constantin. He's a old fashioned, hardcore Dictator and it is chaos there

What I don't get is that it was actually Rangers who wanted to sell Gattuso IIRC. Then he went on to become a Milan legend. What was the deal?

Well he was desperate to play every week and wasn't as important to the first team as Barry Ferguson or Gio Van Bronckhorst. Looking back it would have been great to kept that trio together - Gattuso and Ferguson were only 20 at the time. Advocaat did stick him out at right-back which the young lad probably wasn't that keen on. But then Advocaat used the £4m we got for him on Fernando Ricksen. :nervous:

One of the biggest cheats I've seen on the pitch.

He would dive, roll around and complain to the ref every game.

He would also fake injury and stay on the field when the other team was gaining momentum or when his side needed a rest.

Happy three months at Palermo, Gennaro.
