Gattuso Anyone?

I thought Gattuso was immense last night and looked a real quality candidate as Keano's eventual replacement. He was everywhere and did almost everything. First good look at him I've had this year, was this a typical performance from him?? I know his name has been mentioned many times recently on here.

Alternatively....how 'bout Tacchinardi? I also thought he looked good, if a little rash a la Keano of a couple of seasons ago.

Thoughts anyone?
 
Gattuso's got one hell of an engine, that's for sure.

Was he the one who scored that cracker vs England two years ago, in that match Peter Taylor was in charge?

gattuso is pretty good defensively but he tends to disappear in attack and doesn't use the ball well.

spot on..

I didn't see him distribute the ball at all...(nor carry the ball).

TBH from what I've seen of him, he's a pure defensive midfielder.. ie good tackler...

He's not a box2box, so he'll never be able to replace someone like Keane. Phil and Quinton can do similar jobs... infact Fortune's a better passer..

Only one midfielder impressed me, yesterday.. and that was Eddy Davids.. he's got the lot. now he's what I call an engine!!
 
I wasn´t really sure about him before either, not that he wasn´t a hell of a defensive midfielder but if he could replace Keano or not. His last games has convinced at least me that he could. But Ì wouldn´t want to sign him this summer give <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> a decent preseason and some rest before we decide if we should get a replacement.
 
devilish, you really have to stop going around saying the equivalent of:

"I said this before and I got slaughtered for it! But now you all agree with me" type thing.

It really reduces your credibility in my book. Particularly when the things yous ay arent exactly controversial or particularly special. Its all common knowledge.

Gattuso is a quality destructive player, not much creativity/passing etc though like Davids who can do both. Plus I dont think he would want to leave the European Champions to play second fiddle in a midfield packed out with players better than him tbh.

Its a great leap from the over rated common defensive midfielder who didnt even made it in Scotland
