Apart from this coming as no surprise considering all the rumours, what does it really matter anyway? I mean he's proven he's an excellent player, and that his sexuality hasn't effected his performance levels obviously. I think it's time for sport to move on, and get over the whole sexuality issue.
I thought all rugby players were gay.

I love when someone comes out of the closet and people say its not really surprising considering the rumours....
So what rumours did you hear?
Already 2 of his teammates have spoken this morning and said its the first they ever knew about it.
I'd heard rumours from friends in Cardiff that he was gay, so that didn't shock or surprise me. Though I guess word of mouth rumours are never to be trusted, I mean look at the JOS rumour mill. So I'd heard rumours, but that was it, took it with a pinch of salt, at the time, though I trust my friends.
However what did shock and surprise me was that the Mail got the exclusive, of all the papers to announce this in, it's that one. I guess they had the story but felt they had to give him the chance, after all that rag is still feeling the effects of the Gatley article.
It's been common knowledge amongst people in South Wales that Thomas is gay for a long time, even since before his marriage.

It doesn’t matter, until he props the forward. I always thought he had the tendency to release the ball late in the tackle.
Does it matter? Great rugby player, and seems to be a nice enough person. Surely that's what matters?
Good for him for coming out, and hopefully in the future it will be easier for men in "macho" sports to come out of the closet.
