Over the Christmas break I came into possession of a Wii, and was wondering which games I should get for it, as I never considered/even looked at games for Wii since I always thought it was a kinda crappy console. Any recommendations or must-haves?

Tiger Woods 2010 is awesome. Better than the PS3 version.

Okami is immense, Super Smash Bros is pretty good and the Metroid Prime trilogy would give you three quality games for the price of one.

I completely forgot about the Zelda game. Probably the most must-have game on the console.

And what about accessories? Which ones in your experience do you find to be very useful/utter wank? Right now I've only got rechargable batteries for the controllers.

The recharging thing will save you a fortune on batteries. Other than that we have a Wii Fit board and that's about it. You need 4 controllers if you plan on playing it with your mates.
I have the Mario Kart wheel and the House of the Dead Overkill hand gun, both are good.
Zelda: Twilight Princess is a must have. Great, fun game that takes a while to get through. I agree with most of those on Ollie's list. I'll add Cabella's Big Game Hunt on there too, although I haven't played it, I'm trying to acquire the shotgun/game combo.

All depends on what you like. Multiplayer wise, I enjoy having a few friends/family over and having a crack on Warioware, Mario Strikers and Boom Blocks.
If you're online then Tetris Party is worth a download for multiplayer and World of Goo is well worth downloading if you like puzzle type games.
They're old but two of my favourite games on the system are Excite Truck (graphics are poor but the gameplay is fun) and Ghost Squad which I prefer to House of the Dead Overkill.
Other than that, most of the above recommendations are pretty much spot on.
