Future Utd Captain Poll

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Where would he go from here ? Sporting perhaps..after we win the treble.

Doubt veron will still be here, giggzy might be vice captain now but he doesn't seem to have much influence, beckham seems to be the most influential captain and is a homegrown player and england captain.

why isnt Gary Neville on the list?? a well respected member of the dressing room by all accounts and a calm head on the pitch.

I voted for Becks, but I had a hard time chosing between him and giggsie.
You only have to look how the English National Team captaincy changed his game, top candidate.
Giggsy and Gary could easily be fergie's choice too.

irony is when the literal meaning is (usually diametrically) opposite to the intended meaning
the confusion - if you would care to look up a dictionary (too much trouble?) you would find that sarcasm is generally ironic in nature...

that's okay, the subtle classification has confounded many minds before, including experts, (lingusitic, not legal)

what ya suggested was indeed sarcastic (as ya pointed out - bravo!)
it's lame, cuz it's inane - ya wanna take a five-second look at a pretty serious issue and come up with a judgement - that's okay, i'll just put it
down to yer being a football fan...

my hunch as you put it, is the firing squad example - quite self-explanatory...

where i get ideas like that - it's called extrapolation...

i did admit that some of those were cheap shots - obviouly expecting you to do the same was a mistake - you respond with more inane cheap shots

p.s. i till think ya're right bout the smilies.

thumper, sorry - i'm no legal expert, but there's internet sites that offer all KINDS of private work

jedi master yoda -
SUPREME post - we're not worthy of being in yer presence
(note to charlie's devils, nice name, btw - this last papragraph contains no example of irony or sarcasm)

my apologies - wrong thread

Elmo, btw - touche

In fairness. Any of them would be good for the job. But Beckham seems most likely. I've been impressed with the way he's captained England.

Never mind Raddyboy. You got there in the end.

thanks. took ya two hours to follow me.
hmm...

Surely there can only be one with the way he's captained the national side it's got to be "Our Dave"

But SAF think otherwise, when Keane didn't play, the armband usually goes to Gary or Giggs..

Becks, but I feel it may well go to Giggsy. Not taking anything away from him, but I feel that Becks would be a better captain.

Veron wont be there by the time Keano leaves and while Giggs is the vice captain I think he'd give it to Becks, especially since he's played out of his skin for England and proved that he is capable.

Depends when Keano leaves imo. If it`s the case next year, Giggs will get the armband. But I think keano will play 3 more years, so Giggs will be alreay 31-32. So I don`t know. If one of the english players gets the captain armband, it will be becks because he already england captain.

Not 100% correct as far as I know. When Keane is not playing the armband goes to Giggs, but when is also not playing Becks wears the armband (at least last season Tootenham and Liverpool game). Can`t remember that Gary wore the armband ever with Keano,Giggs or Becks on the field.

not w/ Keano, obviously
not w/ Giggsy
but w/ Becks on the field - has happened - can't give ya a date tho'...
even Jaap wore it, when he was around

I think Jaap was vice captain in the 99-00 season and Gary Neville wore the armband with Becks on the field, but not after Becks was made England captain ( Not 100% shure for the 00/01 season, but for last season.).

Stupid Topic , Keano is a RED and will be for the next 4-5 years , it is like asking who is gonna replace Rio when he leaves ??

Kemo - Where is becks gonna finish his career at ?
