How many times had veron gone missing in away matches since he was signed? sighz...

Fergie probably gave them the hair dryer treatment after a spineless first half...
they came out fighting in the second, pity we didn't get the win..

anyway, we can enjoyed seeing the Arsene Wankers lost for consolation. :D
talk abt going unbeaten all season... well for abt 11 games actually. haha

Ok, what you say is true, but a large number of other players also went missing, and so the point of my post is not to mention the others (they were plainly obvious for anyone watching) but to ask you why you titled this post with "Veron's name" in it rather than the others who were equally as poor ? Just curious

When I wrote my post below I hadn't read what you wrote above. I entirely agree Amir. Sometimes I wish that bandwagon supporters would go and follow another team, and leave the "fair & just" supporters to support United. The comment above by Dominant is a true replica and anthem of the bandwagon brigade.

i didn't slag him off or anything, was just wondering why sometimes he just can't play the simple ball instead of an extravagant pass...

it's my first time starting a thread, just to discuss about our fave team in this forum, and i did not slag off any of our players. instead i got branded a "bandwagon" fan by some of my "fellow" man utd fans here.

well done.

well i do agree but we need another striker. what about shevchenko. AC Milan dun even use him. we could use and partner him up with van nistelrooy.

I've got to say that I too was disappointed by Verons showing today, he was fannying about most of the first half he was always out of position. I expected a lot more from him today especially after his long break :(

i know but do what sir alex does 2 phillipe mexes

send cards or sometin.
andry is very good.

and do u think that solskjaer should start or be on the bench?

i think he should be a super sub like usual.

o yea what bout forlan!!!

personally, i still like to see a 4-4-2 with RVN and Ole in front, but obviously the gaffer thought otherwise.

Forlan did not see enough of the ball to make an impression, he only had 10 mins on the pitch, a few touches and runs, no shots.

wat about liverpool they always score on the last minute like wat they did against chelsea (if anyone saw the game)

there in top

lucky

Did we play better once we changed to 4-4-2? I haven't seen the match yet.

we did not change to a 4-4-2, the gaffer change to a 3-4-3, with ole, giggs and forlan up front and going for 3 at the back with blanc, g neville and o shea at the back. can't say we play much better, but we did see more of the ball, and more possession, partly due to the fulham players tiring after a stunning first half display from them.

We had some half hearted appeals for handballs(x2) against goma, but wasnt given. quite a frantic finish in the last few mins, i was feeling we might steal a win, but alas that was not the case.

actually, the scousers dun score last min goals that frequently,(chelsea fans wun think so, haha)

but we are only 6 points adrift, with more than half the season to go, i will say, dun worry, we can still get on top.

:D :D

I agree SOCALRED, Veron did not play as well as he is capable of and seemed out of position more often than not, but the whole team really did not look that great. Three yellow cards in the second half alone. That showed they lacked the disipline to not take stupid penalties. It was very clear they also lacked the disapline to really take it too Fulham and not take anything away from Fulham either becuase they did play well, but United could have and should have played much better.

It will be interesting to see exactly what Barthez was up to over spot kick - his tactics may have worked and he saved the penalty but he was running the risk of a red card.

How did he do that? The referee has to give a yellow card for that, but he's not exactly going to give him a straight red card. Time wasting is a yellow card offence.

As for United, even when we went 4-4-2 we were ok, but nothing more. It was a poor performance without any relation to the formation - although we were obviously better when Scholes went back to midfield.

Fergie said he's playing Scholes upfront so he can get more goalscoring chances and use his finishing skills, unfortunately in the strikers position he simply does not get more chances.

Scholes is simply a better midfielder than a striker, and when the transfer window opens in january we'll be able to find a permanent partner for Nistelrooy and let Scholes drop back into his favourite spot

We just can't seem to get the fluency in our game. Every point we win is hard earnt whereas the Ars tend to have things wrapped up in the first half (not today of course!)

One of the reasons we play better when Scholes is in midfield is because he can hold and distribute the ball when pressured by opponents.

Beckham, Giggs & Veron can't. And other teams are wising up.

We have a partner for Ruud.

And the topic is about Veron. Not Scholes, or Ole, or Ruud.

One thing we lacked today was a tackler like Butt or Keane. Keane and Scholes is the way to go in the future imo.

damned right, ole deserved to be ruud's partner, and if we should get another striker in jan, which i think we should, he has to be a player who can put up with the rotation policy, and not some big shot striker.

and the topic is about veron, i guess everyone got carried away.

:D

Didn't Barthez go missing when Fulham were about to take the Penalty...............don't hear too many complaints about that do we??????

I think we really missed Keano in the midfield. We kept pumping high balls up to the forwards in the first half, Veron was out of position and kept drifting infield making a huge gap at the left of the field.

In truth we lost the battle in midfield and Fulham deserved to score first. And what a goal by Ole...didn't think he would make it but what technique and what an eye for goal, hope that he goes on a long scoring run after this...

We have been doing this for a while now, a sure sign of a team thats run out of ideas. Veron was no worse than any of the other players in the team against fulham whom are fairly decent opposition.

Arsenal may have lost a game but they wont lose many more thats for sure, but the thing that hurts the most is that arsenal are playing more attractive football than us - you can see that the crowd are loving it - genuine excitment is generated in all their games.

Old trafford has not had that buzz around it for a long time. Hopefully keanes comeback will change that.

Yeah, it really hurts to see United playing that way. But all credit to fulham for closing down United. Did any of you notice how Veron was closed down by 3 players at one point of the match? I think a lot of the other players know that by closing down Veron fast he won't have the time to do something special.

I think that players like Giggs, Scholes and Becks think first before they recieve the ball, so they know exactly what they want to do when they get the ball, whereas Veron thinks after he gets the ball and by closing him down fast, he will lose the ball.

Just my opinion anyway.
