Well, to be honest with you, I think Manchester United were the better team today. Ze Roberto cleared one off the line. Bayer Leverkusen were lucky not to be down 4-1 at the half. Then near the end of the game, Diego Placente headed one that clearly beat goalkeeper Butt.

But such is the game of football. The better team does not always advance. The teams were pretty even over the two games, but we were lucky to get the 2 away goals.

I am surprised with the the Finals on the line that Man Utd did not attack more often. In fact we held the advantage in possesion and shots on goal. One would think the vaunted Manc offense would have kicked into higher gear and taken it to us instead of counter attacking most of the game. What was Ferguson thinking?

Anyway, I tip my hat, ...and my beer to you, for a game well fought. Best of luck in your endevour of catching Arsenal for the Premiership title.

To all those Man Utd opponent this season ... I only took my hat once till now ... and that's to Bayer ... for their positive plays no matter winning or losing .. Unlike some other opponents, who won 'cos of their "good all-round defending" or "clever tackle" ...

On the ego part at the meantime ... for we have not lost either of the 2-leg games make it easier to accept ... but the crucial one is nobody really make any "schoolboy" mistakes ... of which if have happened, would just leave that little torn in my heart accepting the fact of losing it in aggregate .. .

My cheer will be for Leverkusen come Hampden Park meet ...

You wouldnt be so gracious if United had gone through...and that's a fact!

He's got a point (Champ that is). Two sure goals cleared off the line. Could've easily been 2-3 to us yesterday.

They were the better side...they outplayed you...sure you had chances at 1-1 but it's natural that they were gonna sit back in the latter stages.

But the fact is, they were more fluid, they kept & used possession far better than yoyu - some of United's passing was woeful...simply not good enough at that level.

And they were also better than you at OT, when you were lucky with an own-goal and a penalty.

Not criticisms, purely facts.

Bayer 4 - Pool 2

No debate needed, you were well and truly hammered! :D

They certainly did outplay you. Our match was very even when you consider that both sides had a comparable amount of legitimate chances, hence the draw.

Deliberate misinterpretation of what i said?

They outplayed you, Raoul...their passing was slicker, their attacks more dangerous and their defending was strong enough...how many times did United break up one of their attacks, only to immediately give the ball away?

They were better than you at Old Trafford and better than you last night...facts.

Another fact - 9 times out 10, Owen wouldnt have missed his 3 chances in the BayArena.
Sure you came close on a few occasions last night, but you didnt create 3 golden one-on-one chances (and if you did, horseface wouldve probably just dived in the box, rather than convert them.)

;)

We were the better side at Anfield and outplayed at Bayer

Bayer were the better side against Man Utd twice..

Don't think there can be much doubt about this?

I think you go to the same school as fjred.
:p :p

Never went meself. You obviously did with yer patronising smugness.

to the Aussie wanker above:
Aggregate scores - Bayer 4 - 3 L/pool
Bayer 3 - 3 Utd.

Hope you learnt maths at school!

You strike me as a yob who descended from the lower classes. Certainly one of a plebian mind judging from your choice of diction.

:p <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Totally wrong, mate, like the rest of your judgements!

so what would you rather have, two draws or a win and a loss? The end result is the same but at least we have the satisfaction of beating them.

Yup...like 9 out of 10 times Dudek would have save those that went in rite?
And 9 out of 10 games your creative midfield would have created 3 golden one-on-one chances rite?

No point arguing any further...we had chances and they managed to clear them off the line...all credit to the Aspirin

Liverpool had 3 sitters and the little prick midget managed to miss all three...

Same case...both Man Utd and LFC had chances but failed...only Owens misses were frickin hilarious <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Facts in the eye of a blinkered Scouse fan...
9 times our of 10, teams don't clear 2 goal bound shots off the line.

We don't have the disappointment of getting trashed by them...

I'd rather have that we won! We didn't. But this was the semis's not the quarters. Neither were we lucky that we qualified, unlike some who were completely shown up!

wonder who?

Ok, just do me a favour; beat Real in the finals will U ? Thanks... <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />
