Freddy Kanoute

feck Crespo we could get Kanoute for well cheaper and any arse that thinks its just cause he scored today should no Ive been saying this for over a year now.
Except the feck Crespo bit ofcourse because we were'nt always linked with him

The question isnt whether or not we should sign him rather than crespo, i think you have to look at it from a differnt perspective, can freddie score against the big guns well he scored against us and where the frigging best team in the god dam world and i dunno about arsenal etc, but i have my doubts that Freddie could score goals against the likes of Bayern. However I agree that the crespo fee is extremly large but he is a class act and has showed that against great teams but at 35mill i dunno :(
personally i would rather us buy Cisse but thats just my opinion however saying this Cisse could cost 20mill plus but i guess thats what you pay these days

We dont need another top class Striker!!

RVN and Ole will do for me!

Forlan is showing promise!
Just need another back up if Disco goes!

How bout Montella, Tristan, Cisse, Crespo, etc. Someone who could actually displace Ole to partner with Ruud. Kanoute would only end up as our fourth choice imo.

Id go for a youngster - even Zamora!!!!

Ruud and Ole are the best partnership in the premiereship this season - and they havent started alot of games together!

You mentioned big signings - we dont really need someone like the names abaove do we?

If we have a kitty of xx - spend x on a defender and x on another defender!!

what about defoe? hes gonna turn into an amazing player! bet michael owen wouldnt have been aware enuff to make that run today!

Why do we need someone to replace Ole when he is on fire and still in his twenties? <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />
If anything, we need a striker just to bolster our squad, with Yorke on his way out. I do agree the names you mentioned above would be truly world class, but Ole deserves a run in the first team for the first time in four years.

On the subject of Kanoute; good player, and still got plenty of his best years ahead of him There is no doubt he could find the net at United – with the service our midfield pump forward, most strikers with two eyes could. The one aspect I’m not sure of is whether he could handle playing 2/3 games in a week.

same old story again yah ... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> and I think we will proceed on again and again on this till Fergie decide who should wear that No.9 jersey ...

think I have a preference vote from Gazza on Christie ya hh ... ok ok .. you guys shouting again ... well .. just a personal preference here ... Viduka, Philips being other choices

If Fergie has faith in Forlan and he does turn out to be a good enough player for us id rather see us sign a cheaper younger player and give him a decent chance as our nr 4.

Good point MW16.

Let's face it - RVN has had an amazing first season but he's starting to look a bit shagged out. However, it would be a risk going into any game without him as the attack would look distinctly lightweight.

We need a tall striker, good in the air who can handle himself in the box. I'd be happy to see Kanoute or Christie as back up for RVN at the right price.

This 18 year old who plays for Crewe. Scored something like 8 goals thus far this season. Apparently big, and good in the air.

You obviously failed to comprehend what I was saying.

<img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" /> <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" /> <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

The point is that is we spend a large sum on a new striker, then he better be better than Kanoute. No one is saying that Ole needs to be replaced.

To back up RVN, we need someone who is world class...not someone like Kanoute or Christie who haven't proved themselves at big clubs....These players maybe stars of the future...but might not be able to play as the main striker if RVN is injured.. We have a young striker for the future, namely Diego Forlan. Therefore if we have to buy a new striker it should rather be someone who has plenty of experience playing as the main striker at their clubs eg. Cisse, Tristan, Montella.

A few good points have been made but at the end of the day Kanoute is a tall, fast, skilful player, gets his fair share of goals and assists, strong and the thing that first caught my attention about him is last season in the league at home the way he controlled the ball on his chest whilst jumping then he brought it down and got the attack started. He would'nt cost much in comparision to Crespo or whoever were being linked with, Id say about 10-15 million max and all these people saying we don't need another striker, or we don't need another star striker we need a back up one etc. Well Kanoute would'nt exactly be first choice, but he'd be a player who Id be happy to see either starting or coming on against the better clubs

Van Nistelrooy, Solskjaer, Forlan, Montella are'nt that impossible to get seen as we have 3 of em and if we really wanted we could get that cnut Montella

i'd hate to see us dish out 35 mil quid on one striker and not strengthen our defence with possibly two players.

The defence is our main concern..we got an excellent attack, so there's no real need to spend that sort of cash on a foward.

I think when it came down to it our defence was great and our attack could'nt breakdown the other team in the big game ie Bayern

I'd love to see Tristan at Utd...problem is he would be too expensive...out of all the 30m+ strikers, he'd probably be the one who'd fit in best as he really plays with his heart..

I'm thinking plc budgets here - first call on the kitty will surely be for a world class centre and full back.

What I had in mind was the sort of player who would accept rotation, be available around the £10m mark and provide different options coming off the bench. Kanoute / Christie in and Yorke out would be a net gain for MUFC.

Why don't we just put a bid in for every striker who has scored a goal in the past couple of weeks.

Could be the answer.

Then we can work our way thru the defenders.

Oh sod it. Let's just buy every footballer who is a member of the PFA.

So having the partnership that is currently the best in the league isn't good enough?

Let's get Cisse - or whoever - and then, if he doesn't click with Ruud (because partnerships don't always), who shall we go after then.

 See previous post.
