Freddie on way out
By PAT SHEEHAN
ARSENAL are ready to let go of fans’ favourite Freddie Ljungberg this summer.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believes the Swede, 27, is looking at other clubs.
Juventus want the £12million-rated ace and would trade France striker David Trezeguet to get him. Significantly, Ljungberg was not at Spurs on Sunday as the Gunners celebrated clinching the title.
His high-profile, time-consuming commercial work for Calvin Klein has also concerned the Highbury hierarchy.
Wenger has already decided to let go of strikers Francis Jeffers, Sylvain Wiltord and Kanu.
Now Ljungberg has been added to the list — even though a move will dismay Gunners fans, who adore the flamboyant wideman.
Ljungberg joined the club six years ago for £3m from Halmstads and has scored 35 goals in 143 league appearances.
A stunning Euro 2004 performance could seal a move away.
One man staying is Dutch striker Dennis Bergkamp, 34, who has been offered a year’s pay-as-you-play contract.
Another story from the very reliable people at The Sun
But I would love to see him play for us as in my opinion he is Arsenal's 2nd best player after Henry
