No, I don't go onto that, but just found the link in NewsNow so clicked it and found this!!
17th January 2003: Fowler linked with Liverpool and United
Speculation is rife that former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler may be brought home in an attempt to boost the strike-force.
The rumours originally kicked in following the appointment of Ian Rush to the club's coaching staff - by the way we revealed ages ago that Rush had starting coaching at Melwood long before any official appointment (see email below from an observant reader!) - as Rush is a huge fan of the former Liverpool ace. Fowler had agreed terms and passed a medical for his proposed move to Manchester City before pulling out at the last minute sparking speculation that another club had come in for him.
It's unlikely Houllier would bring him back because he has no time for him but as the manager is under fire at the moment, could this be a PR move in the making? Or will Fowler be Martin O'Neill's or David O'Leary's first signing? There's loads of possibilities of course :-) He could of course remain at Leeds BUT could that dreaded move to Old Trafford be just around the corner? Watch this space....
and then some guy (L'Pool Fan) went on to write this, and this is the funny bit!!:
Dear Editor I have go to hand it to you and your site. I wasn't always convinced but I am now that Kop Talk is the best Liverpool FC site of the lot. The official website revealed the re-signing of Ian Rush as a coach with all the aplomb of earth-shattering news whilst you guys had casually mentioned his imminent arrival well before Christmas. So credit and respect to you all for being in the know and telling us all straight. For the record I think Rushie will do a great job, maybe he can paint some giant arrows and point them at the goal for the benefit of the lads." - Chris Sharpe, Cardiff.
