He played brilliant in the Deportivo games and in a recent league game.

It would be tough to get as good a left winger as him who will be happy with the job of challenging Ryan Giggs for a place on the left wing.

I don't think Quinton really showed anything in the first half today to suggest that he's challenging for the left midfield spot in a full-strength team.

Despite his good performance agst Deportivo, he's still coming across as a squad player, rather than a serious challenger to the top-line players. Blomquist, in our treble year, was more of a serious contender who at that stage in his career would have been first choice at many top clubs, and in the wide positions at least the squad then seemed stronger as a result.

I really hope Fortune is able to take his chance and that this afternoon's injury is a minor problem. I like his attitude to the game and to the club, but I've yet to see that he can perform at the same level as the top premiership players, and that's the minimum level of performance needed for a career of any length at United.

fortune is shite, hes not a man united player, cant stand it when he plays, hes got nothing

no speed
cant tackle
cant go past anybody,

a real lfe up to date ralph milne.

i would pay myself to get rid of him,

he is a good player who can still improve; I believe his is only about 25 ? He, like Butt, is one of those players who won't always make the first XI but you can't live without - he is showing his worth with no Keane / Becks. :)

Nicky Butt's an automatic selection for the England world-cup squad. He's also got several seasons of MOM appearances behind him at club level. He's able to perform in Europe at the highest level. It is sheer wishful thinking to see any evidence from Fortune's appearances so far that he has anything like Butt's qualities.

fortune improve come on,

the mans got nothing,if he had anything you would have seen glimpes of it by now,

butt is class but you could see that when he first came into the team, never lets you down,

fortune is no winger he cant pass anybody no skill,

sorry anybody who thinks hes good doesnt know a thing about football, hes on the level of the likes of sunderland, not Man Utd

You have to understand that United can't have 22 World-class players on the squad

mayeso, I doubt you have ever seen him play. He could walk in to a few Premiership teams and as a squad player that is good going. His scoring rate is also impressive - great player with excellent technique.

Gazza

ive seen him play loads of times, was their when he scored his first goals for the club against braford on 1999 boxing day,so i think ive got a good say,

plus did you ever get trials with man city and turn up with a united kit on,only to get booted out the same day, still took the piss out of andy dibble in goal,

so i think i know about my football, fortune id have him in my back pocket,

Fortune has been quite ordinary thru out the last few seasons. This season he has improved and has some very good performance, but he is still highly inconsistence. May be a good squad member for us, but does he need to play for a certain percentage of matches in order to get work permit?

That's right, and the last I heard he was unlikely to get the necessary number of games.

Fortune is like Phil Neveille . Give hm games and he will perform bench him too often ad you will curse everytime you put him on a pitch! :D

Quite true.
