Walter Crickmer started it all...
Former youth players David Fox has joined Norwich City from Colchester United and Paul Heckingbottom has joined Gateshead from Mansfield Town.

More info to follow...

In: Joe Coll (GK) and Luke McCullough (CB) for the Academy this season (debuts in the Milk Cup?)

I think they are both Irish lads too. Coll from the south, and McCullough from the North.

So far I haven't heard of us whipping up any young contential players this year, we are usually linked with a few. Just that Belgian lad who finally appeared from the U16's.

We were linked a while back to a couple of Roma youngsters and we've had some Norwegian kids on trial a few times this year so possible one or two of them may sign.

We still have a fairly large squad from last year as our Academy team was young, plus the promotions from the u16s so less need for signings to boost the numbers.

Aaron Burns has joined the new Chester FC (now in the Evo-Stik League Division One North!).

Nothing yet, no. Is eerily quiet at the minute, World Cup dominating everything I guess.

McCullough signs for Man United

Portadown's up and coming star Luke McCullough is the latest local footballer to make the move from Northern Ireland to Manchester United.

McCullough, who has captained Northern Ireland at Under 16 and 17 levels, signed for the Red Devils at the beginning of the year on a two-year scholarship deal.

"It's any boy's dream to get any club across the water but to get United, it's an added bonus", said McCullough, who supported the other Reds, Liverpool, his whole life.

Kenny Cooper has broken his ankle on the first day of preseason training at 1860 Munich.

The USA striker had returned to his German club after a six month loan spell with Plymouth Argyle last season.

"For six weeks, he cannot do anything and then he will start rehab," 1860 press officer Robert Hettich told MLSsoccer.com. "We hope that he will be back in three months.

"It was very shocking because it was the first training session and nobody knows exactly how it happened. He was in a duel."

Former United youth player Daniel Nardiello has joined Exeter City :)

that was the weirdest transfer ever, well that and Calliste to Liverpool a few years ago

He actually did pretty well by all accounts, suspect he'll have done himself plenty of good in terms of his future career. Was trialling with non-league teams when he left us, has to be in a better position now.

Adam Eckersley has joined AGF Aarhus in Denmark, after leaving Horsens earlier in the summer.. Two year deal..

Interesting one this, as he'd disappeared off the radar for a fair while - Lee Lawrence (of the 2003 Youth Cup winning side) has joined Wigan Robin Park.

Some news/speculation on Brandy:

Man United reject chased by three Championship clubs

Manchester United reject Febian Brandy is wanted by three Championship clubs as well as Major League Soccer side Toronto and Omonoia Nicosia in Cyprus.

The striker was released by United earlier this summer and has since been without a club.

Brandy was invited to America to have a look at Toronto's facilities but, so far, no deal has been arranged for the former United ace.

Brandy spent loan spells at Swansea and Gillingham during his time at United but he never managed to break into the first team.

Sir Alex Ferguson chose not to offer him a new deal this summer and he has been looking for another club ever since.

talkSPORT understands three Championship clubs - one believed to be Doncaster should their interest in another former United striker, David Healy, come to nothing - as well as Toronto are keen on offering Brandy a return to football.

And Cypriot club Omonoia are also monitoring the 21-year-old's situation and they have requested more information about him.
