He was amasing, he should have had 5 goals. He can only go on from here and get 30 this season. He has all the hallmarks needed to be a great striker. I think he should be given a regular strikers spot after tonight's performance.

Not me who said this but a Man Utd Fan after the game on 5Live. Sorry, but did I look at the wrong game.

I was glad to see him score, I thought you could see how nervous he was last night and the fact that the other strikers were laying the ball to him. thank Heavens he scored but lets not get too worked up about it.

True Baz. I'd rather wait and see him put one away on normal-play before getting carried away.

Pleased for him though, must be a relief.

His play was good last night, and has being good since he has arrived. I do think he has a good future with the club and the monkey that came off his back will see him get better. But lets wait before we start mouthing off about how great he is. It was a Penalty

TBH when I listened to your guy Last Night, I thought it was a wind-up. Then when I realised it wasn't I thought what a low of shit and big headed arrogance our supporters are becoming.

I'm glad he scored, considering the frame of the match...

Poor cnut would have been destroyed if he'd missed that penalty...

See? I have got a heart...

He's not afraid to shoot at goal thats for sure - even with his first touch he tried an incredibly audacious half volley, and it weren't far off. They were tricky chances that he had, but he did quite well with them, and most importantly he showed desire and tenacity and hard work - and that'll be rewarded. If the goal settles him and allows him to sacrifice a bit of that power for a bit more accuracy, then he'll turn out alright - and for his age he's a great prospect, could turn out like Teddy when he's older.

good to see people aren't getting carried away by this then? ;)

good luck to him, if he'd missed that penalty last night in a dead game i suspect he'd never have recovered. . .

Considering Keano didn't let him have that last one, I thought it showed great confidence to go up to Beckham and grab the ball - he hasn't let it get to him.

???

He was one on one with the keeper and blasted it over the crossbar...

How is that doing well?

Is that the volley that nearly took the lights out in the stadium.

Not being smart here but, you could see with ever miss it was getting to him and after that volley on the left, he just looked a long long way from home. I hope he does go on from here. he was not cheap.

No, the one he hit on a dipping half volley that went less than a foot over the bar from far out.

That was the only chance I thought he should have done better with, the others were either on target, or not far off, and were very difficult.

it was funny in the end every time ruud had the ball he looked to set up or lay it off for forlan

well done diego

he now has more cl goals than the whole pool front line put together ;)

whats that about attacking football davo?

Doing as well as St Michael of Liverpool, and he has played less.....

And we conceeded two goals....something you Liverpool fans know all about this season.

Yeah it was getting to him so much he seized the ball, placed it on the spot knowing that 67,000 people at OT were watching and many millions worldwide and slotted it straight in the back of the net......

Wish things got to me that much - he's cracked his duck lets hope he goes on now - RVN only scored HIS first goal in open play last night.

As for the first goal in 27 games can somebody better infoemd than me add his total minutes on the pitch and divide it by 90 and give us the REAL number of games he has played

Lets give Diego a chance shall we.

Someone said last night he has played 14 hours in a man Utd Shirt.

So he has played 9 1/3 games. (Someday I am going to do Countdown. My Talent for maths is being wasted)

So 9 1/3 games - a lot of it as sub and in brief spells - no wonder he's taking his time to find the net

Did'nt Heskey go 27 GAMES last season without scoring?.

You have to consider that Forlan has come to a completely new country, culture and style of football. Plus, last season some keepers made the most amazing saves from him.

well even if he did, that's not so bad for a defensive midfielder.

i dont know if forlan is the business or not but i do know that he tries harder than at least half of the current regular team members....
