How about giving Fortune a run instead of Forlan and play him as a striker, then rather wait for Sir Giggs to come off and replace him with Fortune.

If you were from Uraguay would you ask the same question.

Asuming he can score from the spot, he would not be much worse than Blondy.

He plays as a striker in the resrves and friendlies, and he also looked as if he was trrying to sneak into that role at times last nite.

Don't forget Fortune use to be under the wing of Carlos Queroz when he was SA coach so maybe he got some ideas for him.
Man Utd Forever

You definitely have a point that Queroz joining us should have a positive effect on Fortune. I just can't see the point people rate Forlan more than Fortune here. In International level, Forlan is just a squad member while Fortune is a regular starter. In United, at least Fortune has proved that he can play a 90-minutes good match for us, and has a fairly good scoring rate as a midfielder, while so far Forlan has proved absolutely nothing yet.

Er, didn't he do just that in the WC against Paraguay?

Most of the team were trying to play upfront. Gary Neville didn't go back from a corner for about 10 minutes.

Fluke.
His strike rate is quite good for a squaddie, does someone have figures?

Snoeker,
For United, it's 5 goals from 25 EPL appearances. He hasn't scored in 9 Euro appearances.
