Forget players...we need to invest in a scouting network.

When it comes to new players, United are still pretty much getting by on a one man band Fergie's brother and his dog; agents touting for buisness and the back page of the Sun strategy.
It's amateurish and gullible at best.
We should have a clued-up scout in every viable league in the World. What would that cost?...the wages of one player?
United claim to be the 1st truly World club...sadly that has more to do with selling shirts than finding players.

Because the scouts find the player that we use the money to buy.

I agree with you Redpie.

The potential is out there.

About scoting!!!

I Don't understand why United haven't been watching finnish young rising star Henri Scheweleff. He's been on trial at Ajax and at the moment he is training with Werder Bremen. Scheweleff is 19 years old and already a starter in the finnish under 21's team. He has also played already two full sesons in finnish premier league. He plays normally in the withdrawn position and could be usefull, if SAF plays 4-4-1-1. Naturally he wouldn't make the team this year. But soon he would take Diego's place on the bench. He would also be cheap. Unfortunately it seems he will be heading to Werder Bremen.

I hear youngsters like Daniel Sjölund and Hannu Lyytinen are also on the rise. Do you think they are good enough to make it in the premiership?

If we start talking about finnish talents we should be wathcing Ari Nyman (FC Inter Turku). Probably only finnish youngster who could be United caliber on the future.

Is he younger than Daniel Sjölund and Hannu Lyytinen? BTW I think the fate of Sjölund presents us with a good argument for staying in Scandinavia until you are ready to play with the big boys. Kim Källström could have moved to a team outside Sweden at the age of 17 but stayed in Sweden and now at 20 he is by far the best player in the Swedish league and a regular in the national team. I guess Sjölund is just as talented but I doubt we'll see him in the premiership anytime soon.

We do. Not in the sense that they are full time, but are contracted to scout for United.
But in any case how many "new" talented players do United want.?. All clubs also have to keep the number of registered players to a given number in each of their various teams.

Nyman is something like 17 or 18 years old. So he is younger than sjölund for example and Nyman is playing on defensive positions so he is gonna mature more slowly than forwards.
Finnish youngsters are not as lucky than their swedish counter parts. Their domestic league is quite much better than ours. Finnish league isn't a place where you could develope a world class players, which is shame.
