EXCLUSIVE: United to enter race with City, Arsenal and Chelsea for 'next big thing' Nabay

Manchester United will make their move for Birmingham teenage sensation Foday Nabay on Tuesday.

The central midfielder, who turns 14 next month, is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in England, and will spark a huge transfer scramble now he is deregistered as a Blues player.

Given his ties with Birmingham have been severed, the Premier League's elite will be free to make their move for the Sierra Leone-born wonderkid.

The Blues would be due compensation, but an ex-member of the club's academy management team has told Sportsmail the youngster could cost as little as £65,000 - a bargain given his immense potential.

As well as United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have shown a firm interest in the 13-year-old.

And United are due to make their pitch for Nabay to join the Old Trafford academy, with negotiations planned for Tuesday.

Talks with Liverpool and Arsenal have already taken place, while Nabay's representatives are due to meet officials from Aston Villa on Monday.

However, it is understood Nabay - who scored 12 goals for the club's academy side - has not completely ruled-out re-signing with Birmingham.

Despite having the country's top clubs chasing his signature - he realises he will have more chance of making an earlier first-team breakthrough at St Andrews.

Nabay has already been touted to break the club's record of youngest ever player, currently held by Trevor Francis, who made his debut at the age of 16 years and 139 days.
