FM or CM?

Hey guys,

The last sim game.. possibly the last game at all.. I bought was CM 03/04. Been playing it a lot recently, so I'm interested in buying a newer version. I'll probably get a slightly out-of-date one off ebay or something to save money, but I'm not sure whether to go for FM or CM. I haven't really been following what happened to the two games after the split... anyone fancy filling me in? And persuading me one way or another?

FM, it's as simple as that. CM has gone downhill ever since the split.

Football Manager definitely! Don't even go near CM, it's terrible. FM2008 and FM2007 are both good, just make sure you download the patch before you play, it fixes niggling bugs.

You should be able to pick up this years pretty cheap to be honest.

If you're going for an older version i would say that FM 2005 is worth a go. My favorite of the FM games.

FM is pretty much the same as the old championship managers as it is made by the same people.

CM has been taken over by new people who are pretty inept when it comes to making games.

FM is actually a very good series, and FM08 is a very good game. CM has nothing to do with the old CM, except for the name, and is a truly horrible game.

Just remember to patch it, whatever FM you decide to buy (FM08 is very good IMO). There's usually never any show-stopping bugs, but there are some that might annoy you.
