Fergies main excuse for a lethergic performance against Villa was the travelling.

While I appreciate its not ideal, why is sitting on a plane (something I know more than a little about) more tiring then the training that the team would have been doing had they not been in the air?

Its not some new invention that the squad is just trying out. Our team have more air miles than the RAF for gods sake.

Why do Arse and Poo deal with it better than we do?

I think travelling at the moment is just adding to the existing problems. You could tell by Fergie's face that he knew it wasn't much of an issue, perhaps just trotted out for the media.

We had a longer Journey too.

Excusec excuses.

It is more tiring for us at the moment, because we're having to use the same players all the time.

I don't think it's necessarily the reason we're playing badly, but it has to be said until this Cyprus trip, we haven't been able to allow any player the luxury of a "rest".

Dare I say it but Houllier said that he always arranged for his team to stay overnight after an away Euro game. It seems to make sense but I suppose fergie has his reasons, although they are not immediately apparent. To arrive back at 5 in the morning seems ridiculous.

of the last 9 champions league games liverpool have played, we have won all the 9 league games immediately afterwards.

coincidence?

"win" being the operative word.

we played just fine, thanks very much.

it's funny how we can be boring, lucky and jammy whilst averaging 2 goals a game in the league. . .

nothing touchy about me mate, not at all. we played alright, and well enough to take the 3 points.

suits me fine.

;)

I think that United should definitely stay over after European games like Liverpool and Arsenal do. United landed at 4.30am after the game in Greece, so none of the players would have got to bed before at least 6am on Thursday. What kind of preparation is that for playing on Saturday? This is a problem that definitely needs looking at.
