Santos, 30, had been expected to join Flamengo on a loan deal as the Brazilian club looked to rush through a deal for the defender with the country’s transfer window closing on Saturday (July 20).
The Brazil international spent the second half of last season on-loan at Gremio in his homeland and was keen on a move back to the South American country.
The club have confirmed that Santos has signed a two-year deal at Flamengo, who are coached by the full-back’s former boss at international level Mano Menezes.

He was an awful bag of shit for them. £7m loss in a couple of years.

When the most memorable thing you did was swap shirts with the man who arguably won the Premier League, you know you're shit.

Yeah, the article and title don't really mention it's Andre Santos. Would one of the mods mind editing the title?

Last time I ever want to hear Pete using Bebe as evidence of anything. At least we didn't actually have to play Bebe. Santos lost matches for Arsenal.

He didn't lose any per se (though he threatened to every time someone ran down the right wing). He did actually win us the away game at Chelsea 3-5.

Don't lie to me, Pete, I see'd it I tell you!

Also I was at the Brighton match at the Amex, which I feel deserves an honourable mention. You didn't lose that game, but Santos did his level best to make it happen. It was almost embarrassing to watch first Buckley and then LuaLua walk right past him (or, indeed, receive lovely passes from him.)

That's what I mean - I can't hang any particular defeat on him though he looked as if he was going to feck things up every five minutes (offside law clearly a mystery)

Yeah that's fair I suppose.

The other difference between Santos and Bebe is that you've got rid of Santos. :(
