Bearing in mind recent performances, what should our first team be if everyone is fit.

Barthez
Neville
Brown
O'Shea
Silvestre
Becks
Keane
Scholes
Giggs
Ruud
Ole

would be mine. With a bench of Carroll/Lopez, Butt, Forlan, Veron and Fortune.

I knew I'd forgotten someone.

Sod it. I don't want to drop Wes or JOS, or Gary Nev. after Sunday's performance.

EPL :

Barthez
G.Neville
Ferdinand
Brown
Silvestre
Beckham
Scholes
Keane
Giggs
Van Nistelrooy
Solksjaer

Subs : Carrol/Ricardo, Veron, Butt, O'Shea, Forlan

UEFA CL

Barthez
G.Neville
Ferdinand
Brown
Silvestre
Beckham
Veron
Keane
Giggs
Scholes
Van Nistelrooy

Subs : Carrol/Ricardo, Solskjaer, Butt, O'Shea, Forlan

Barthez
O'Shea
Wes
Rio
Gary Neville
Giggs
Keane
Scholes
Becks
Ruud
Ole

Bench: Ricardo, Silvestre, Butt, Veron and Forlan

I'm really not certain about the backline. I wanted Rio and Wes in the centre, but O'Shea really deserves a spot so I went with Silvestre missing out. But depending on form it could easily be Gary or O'Shea on the bench.

In the Champions League, Veron would probably start at the expense of Ole or Scholes.

tough question. We now have an abundance of people who can do a good job at centre-half. The young lads have improved leaps and bounds there and i would put a lot of that credit at Laurent Blanc's feet.
im a massive fan of Blanc and i think he's been fantastic for us, certainly not as bad as some people make out. But, soon it will be time to look to the future, so:

Next seasons line-up (not taking into account future signings)

GK Barthez
RB Gary Neville
CB Brown
CB Ferdinand
LB Silvestre
LW Giggs
DM Keane
CM Scholes
RM Beckham
FW Van Nistelrooy
FW Solskjaer

SUBS
Carroll, O'Shea, Butt, Forlan, Fletcher (if fit), Phil Neville, Fortune

With that, suddenly we look strong again. I really toyed with the idea of dropping Ferdinand, moving Silvestre inside and playing O'Shea at LB. Ferdinand imho hasnt convinced yet, at least not any more than our own home grown players. I hope im wrong about him. Have gone with Ole up front with Ruud simply because they scored so many goals together last season when playing together in a 4-4-2. Forlans unlucky to lose out but Ole is equally as hard-working and you can bet your house on him putting the chances away.

i agree with your team selections. but i'd feel very bad for fortune.. he has certainly shown a lot of potential.

Can't believe how many people want to dump JOS.

Wes has been excellent since his comeback, but I prefer JOS - just.

Frankie Barker
Neville Gee
Rio Shay
Golden Brown
Tweetie Boy
Bex For Men
The Ginger Prince
Royston Himmzelff
Bryan Gibb
Olly Sjubstjar
Ruud!!!!!!!!

I would play same team for Premiership (for that is its name  ) as CL, but for CL I would go 4-5-1 to start away, with Olly on the right Bex inside him and scholey either side of royston.

veron on bench ahem  bye

Things change very quickly. In the summer the question was "Is one central defender enough?" We paid a world record fee for the best defender at the World Cup. Within six months the question is "Does he make the team?"

That would also be my best 11. My biggest dilemma was the back four. I hated leaving JOS out because he's been so impressive this year and has done everything asked of him. In the end, Wes just edged it for me because of his pace and experience.

My subs would be:

JOS
Diego
Nicky
Seba
Carroll/Ricardo
