I really believe that the first person SAF should buy is Dicanio. I believe that he would do for us what Zola has done for Chelsea. I also think that should we buy him he would become the premiership player of the year 2002/2003. Then purchase Cisse as backup - lets face it Cisse is unable to play in Europ so the only cover we would have for RVN is Ollie n Forlorn so I feel that DiCanio would be an amazing buy. :p

gee wiz, you've brought in a fresh air of originality to this forum.

I agree, Di Canio would be a great buy for us. Hopefully he'll fill the gap for the rest if the season and then in the summer we can buy a striker who wont be cup tied

There seem to be 2 schools of thought here:

One, buy Di Canio as a short term fix and hope Forlan and / or Webber turn out as good understudies.

Two, go out and splash on a good striker and swallow the fact that he is cuptied.

Neither sounds appealing. Why don't we wait for Danny Webber to recover from that dislocated shoulder? It should be just about the time the transfer window opens.

kin ell , why does it seem to be that everyone rates oli as a sub striker, thwe guy is class , and no one should take his place...not now anyway

I have to concur with you Demon, with the idea of Di Canio. He is a finished product. He is class. He plays English football and has Italian blood running in him. At the European level, he is bound to make a marked impact. Paolo is the one we need for the next year/year-and-a-half allowing our home grown talents like Danny Webber and Jimmy Davis to slot in. I agree completely.

Di Canio now Ronaldinho next season. That would do the trick
