First Choice Midfielders

We knew Keano, Beckham and Butt will be back on the track again. However, we saw Phil and Fortune played very well in the Midfield role too. With Becks, Keano, Butt, Scholes, Phil, Giggsy, Fortune and maybe O'shea in the midfield lineup, Who will be the best 4 midfield players for United?

LM - Giggs
CM - Keane
CM - Veron
RM - Beckham

With Scholes playing just off Ruud. Yep, I think we'll eventually go back to the team that wasn't playing well last year and at the beginning of this year. I've just got a feeling that is the team that SAF wants to play,so he's going to stick to it.

If it were my choice, I'd...actually, I have no idea what I'd do. Ole has played just so well on the right that I was thinking that we should try Becks in the centre, but who would miss out? Keane or Scholes? Unless we have Giggs, Keane, Beckham, Ole with Scholes in behind Ruud. But Scholes hasn't done so well there (before last night against the Arse).

Basically, I have no idea whatsoever how I would pick the midfield. But Seba would probably miss out unless he can regularly play like he did against Arsenal.

Becks, Keano, Scholes, Giggs is my first choice in 4-4-2. If we play 4-5-1 then also add Veron to it.

Although Phil and Fortune played very well recently, it's still quite impossible to say thye can keep Keano out of the team.

Just for the hell of it , 433 ? It worked for Brazil, and the boys have been using a lot of width lately anyway...
G Neville Brown Silvestre JOS
Beckham Scholes Giggs
OGS RVN Diego

So what about Butt, Veron, Keane, Rio ? Exhaustion & injury mean they're all unlikely to be available together, and it gives SAF a wide range of midfield adjustment to make when necessary.

i think it's great now that our rotation players are on form. with the first team regulars back in the side SAF will have what he's always thrived - a selection headache.

this is good for the team, so atm i don't really think any of us should worry whoever players, coz they seem to be doing great jobs.

so i expect to see a lot of rotation until the end of the season.

I looked at the team lists for the final games of THE season, and the First 11 and replacements were very stable eg.
Schmeichel
Irwin G Neville Stam Johnsen
Beckham Blomqvist Keane Butt/Scholes
Yorke Cole
Subs : OGS Sheringham P Neville

The message seems to be that a stable team works best. No coincidence that the last few games have been with virtually a stable team, and it's delivered.

And people were saying that we have a lack of depth at Manchester United??? Look at the dilemma we are facing. It would such a shame to put anyone on the bench at this time from all that have been playing against Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal and brought nine out of nine possible points, and wouldn't we agree, rather convincingly too? But, which team in the world benches a Roy Keane or David Beckham or Juan Veron or Paul Scholes or Nicky Butt? This is the unfortunate situation that will arise. In games to come, a rotation will have to be practised. Tactics on domestic (EPL, FA Cup and Worthington Cup) as well as on the European front will dictate which team will play. I feel sure that in spite of his display against Arsenal, Veron would not be so high in the pecking order domestically, but, in Europe, he would be the first name on the team sheet. We have resources at our disposal. The guys are in fine form. The hunger is back. The heart is back. The desire is 'killing' us. Slip ups will occur. We won't get as cocky as Arsene Wenger and declare something as preposterous as 'We will finish the season undefeated!!' But, the squad we have today will cope with difficulties like injuries, suspensions and the same with so much more style and confidence. This is what has come up at United in the past few weeks. And that has to bode for the good of the club. There is not one team we can name out of the numerous combinations possible that is not capable of holding its own against the very best domestically or Europe... Go guys!!! Keep it up. Keep the team spirit raised sky high. And prove to the rest of the world and all the doubters the answer to the very question Peter Schmeichel answered on one famous night against Blackburn Rovers when the first of our 7 Premier League Champions trophy was presented to us (at the time Eric Cantona put Paul Ince through to put us ahead of Rovers 2-1 for the first time that night) - "Could you have any doubts? - WE ARE THE BEST".

Yes, I agreed. We should apply the rotation or based on the players' form to decide the midfield role. United just simply the best team. We are the strongest team in the world.

Dunno really, depends who were facing. If were facing a tough midfield then Keane and Butt in the center, if in europe against a team who plays europea football then veron and keane.

At this very moment id pick:

European Games:

Solskjaer Keane Veron Giggs
Scholes

Premuiership:

Solskjauer Keane Butt Giggs

Scholes

obviously depending on form. ole has done better right wing than becks TBH

The second four is a non-starter. You need to include some of the first four in it, ie swap Keane with Butt or Veron.

Ideally the midfield should comprise of four from Becks, Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Veron, and Butt. If Becks is out you can use Ole, or as proved yesterday, Phil can do a job.

But that second four would be too weak.

I don't think the second four is weak from any point of view, but the creative one. But, then, one Veron is enough for that. If forced to, we can go to that. We might just sit in defence and counter hoping Veron to play one defence splitting pass to Ruud/Ole/Diego. Defensively, the second four is very, very strong indeed. Butt, Phil and Quinton all have proved they can hold up admirably.

gotta be becks - keane - scholes - GIggs boy.. i like this...

sigh......

i think, he'll be back...but he'll have to fight for his place.

If he gets back to the old Becks...then i see no problem with him starting as first choice.. perhaps SAF should play him the cups, maybe he'll show us all that he's still got it..

I want to see becks the winger..not the wannanbe playmaker.
