Fiorentina are understood to be closing in on a deal for Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi - even though he will not be able to play until March.
Rossi is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury - his second in the space of 18 months, and he is unlikely to play until March.
But the clubs - who did two deals in the summer when Borja Valero and Gonzalo Rodriguez both moved to Florence - have now agreed terms on another deal.
Fiorentina will pay around £8million plus a bonus of £4million if the deal works out.
The player's agent Federico Pastorello on his Twitter account wrote: "Many people ask me about Giuseppe Rossi to Fiorentina. I can only tell you that Giuseppe would be very happy to play there. Work in progress...".

Odd move. It's not so long ago Barca were offering much more for him.
