I just wanted to know why no ones ever started a fighting fantasy thread? Those books are awesome. What is wrong with you people? I used to play them all the time and downloaded some pdfs recently to relive old memories. Who else has played them, is a fan and actually has taste?

yeah but it's all about the adventure. I think I played deathtrap dungeon the most. I got it now in a pdf. It's hell. Woe is meeeeeee

cool cause i was about to try warlock out. Apart from deathtrap I've forgotten the ones I read and the ones I wanted to read at the time. Definately worth collecting as they never get old

sure thing. The more the merrier. I'd not even heard of it but now i'm looking for it on google . The lack of cool on this sites disturbing however. There was choose your own adventure too which would appeal to the younger redcafe members (under 10's) or those with a sensitive disposition

Project Aon: Main / Books (browse) (lonewolf books online)

Lone Wolf series is brilliant imo, I had fun playing them when I was younger and had no access to the internet

Talisman of death and the shamutanti hills. When they first came out, my class had almost all the books between us. We used to bring them to school and share them out.

Edit, just googled and found out that Warlock of firetop mountain came out in 82. I guess they came out a bit earlier than I thought! We didn't get into them until about 1987.

sounds like a smart class. Mine would have teethed them. Yeah warlock was the first one.I was 2 at the time  I've decided to start at that one and work through what i can. You have good taste people.

These books are the sole reason for lifelong love affair with RPG's and the fantasy genre.
They were original and brilliant.I doubt many people realise the creative influence Jackson and livingstone had on so many.

Yeah I know what you mean. They are a great way to pass the time even now, lance mentioned one just under your post which i'd not heard of before and that's the great thing. Even if you've read one, you can read it lots of times and come across new situations. When i get time i'm definately going to get back into them. What's your favourite one?

I love the first few like Deathtrap, talisman and firetop mountain, but purely for nostalgic reasons. i personally think the later ones are a lot better.

House of hell, was fantastic and probably the most difficult book to solve, because it consisted of some great puzzles you had to solve.

Appointment with fear Where you make a super hero and choose your powers...i shouldn't have to say anymore, great book.

Creature of Havoc The hardest to figure out, with great puzzles, you even have to learn weird new language, i think this was probably the best, when i look back.

Spectral Stalkers you are either going to love this or hate it. It involves time traveling around looking for a lost artifact, while your enemy's stalk you through the different worlds.

Ive always wanted to attempt to write one of these type books, and think they are a great way to encourage young people to gain an interest in reading.

I was thinking of writing on too. The new steve and Ian? :D

Thats for that. I realised i read so few looking back. I think Scorpion king, Lizard king, Deathtrap and maybe a few others. Hard to believe it was nearly 20 years ago

I was thinking along the lines of a story with three completely alternative routes, with a non conclusive endings, and each individual ending leading to a different sequel. means writing fours books, but the gives great scope for story/plot/character development.
