Brazil being hosts, have already been allocated Group A Position 1.

It could get a lot worse then that really...
Brazil Netherlands Japan England
Or Germany Ivory Coast Japan England
Mexico aren't a patch on what they were in 2010.

Brazil, Italy would be worst case, imo. They are clearly stronger than Netherlands.

The European team that ends up in pot 2 can't be drawn to one of the European teams from pot 1 right? So Germany and Spain won't end up in a group of death. While the Southamerican teams could end up with 2 out of Italy, England, Netherlands, Portugal, France, if one of those nations is the one that goes into pot 2.

I haven't watched much of Italy to be fair so I can't really judge them. And you're right, even though they *technically* could still end up with a group of death, if they drew Ivory Coast, Japan and Italy as you say, but the chances are higher for a south american team to get into a group of death.

Oddly enough we got drawn in the same group as Spain and Ivory Coast in the draw rehearsal. The final team was South Korea.

'Group of death' should include 3 teams that are expected to make at least the quarter finals. A group with Germany, Italy, Ivory Coast and Japan has two clear favorites and two teams that won't be missed if they go out in the group stages, that's a tough group, but nothing more. At least, that's my opinion.

True but it it ends up being a stronger group than any other it will still get the group of the death stamp.

I have no preference for Chile... my only wish is that we don't play Brazil in the round of 16. 3 times in a row would be too much.

Hopefully France will end up in the group of death.

Great! ;)

My little finger tells me that France will win it... they are the underdogs and are capable of anything.

It's going to be a horrible for us Aussies. We are the lowest ranked team there and have a really poor team, in all honesty, I will be happy with a goal or two and not getting pumped.

Best sceanrio: Switzerland, Algeria and Greece

Worst scenario: Brazil, France and Netherlands

If you get that draw, I'd be amazed if you finish with better than a -6GD

A challenging group might carry some benefits for England so long as the matches take place in an agreeable climate.

If the team qualifies to the knock-out stages despite a difficult round of games they'll at least be better prepared when they face Germany or whoever. Preferable to a repeat of the boredom served up against Algeria and the USA in 2010 at any rate.

So the Bosnia manager missed his flight. Good start to the World Cup year then.

Apparently he was watching the PSG game and then had to run to the airport but there was a bit of traffic so he missed it

Zero chemistry between the performers. How bad at football do you have to be to become a rapper in Brazil?
