Ferguson - exposed again

I have finally had it up to here with Alex slowly turning Utd into the laughing stock of the world with his post match comments. It has got to the stage where no one listens to his attempts to sway the FA authorities with his rose tinted view of events. To say that it was definately not an elbow swing yesterday was laughable. Why does he do this? Does he not realise the public can now see every move from every angle on TV now? Just when Arsenal were the public enemy no1, Alex has managed to move that title back to Old Trafford. The siege mentality doesn't work anymore. The mind games don't work anymore. The brain washing of media doesnt work anymore. Alex, please use some kind of sofistication in your analysis. You're starting to look amateurish against the other top managers when it comes to talking football.

Very true. Everyone knew post-game lastnight that Keano would be slated in the press, he certainly doesnt need his manager joining the debate publicaly.

Yeah, I wish he had said Keano's actions had something to do with cows grassing.. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Don't agree with those slagging Fergie off - he's in a tough spot - his best player (and the one he identifies most with) is clearly going more than a little nutty - and developing a persecution complex to boot.

He tried the old "Wenger denial" routine - but later realised that he really had to say smg this time. I respect him for publicly changing his mind - but how he deals with Keane and keeps him a productive part of the team will really be a test of his managerial greatness.

In this regard the appointment of Quieroz as coach may yet prove to be a masterstroke - Fergie needs more distance from the team than he had last year - someone else has to handle the players day by day - and I think we are already seeing some signs of a new tactical awareness seeping out amongst the players.

Personally I couldn't give a toss what the media think of SAF, as long as he puts a team together that does the business on the pitch then it fine by me.
I know a large part of the game now is dealing with the media but does it really matter if the press are laughing at him.
In this case he's admitted he was wrong and fined Keane.

I think Fergie deserves a bit of credit - not so much for saying that the ref. was right, but for having the balls to publicly go back on his earlier comment.

It's not something he's renowned for.

Agreed. Also count in the fact that Fergie probably had about 5 minutes to have a word with his players before they had a shower, view the replays and talk to the media. No point doing a Wanker and saying I didn't see it.

I agree absolutely with your first two paragraphs. Hope you're right about the last one. We need it.
