From the Mirror:
SIR ALEX Ferguson is involved in an angry feud with Manchester United's own TV station after it broadcast withering criticism of his team.
Fergie was furious when MUTV interviewed Old Trafford legend Stuart Pearson after the recent 3-1 defeat by Manchester City.
Pearson launched a bitter attack on the club's derby-day disaster. He said: "I don't think I've seen a performance as bad as that for a long time - if I've ever seen one that bad before from a Manchester United team.
"Alex has got a lot to answer for.''
Ferguson was so upset by MUTV carrying the outspoken comments, he is considering banning the channel from talking to United's stars.
His belief that MUTV was the one channel he and his players could trust has been destroyed.
The channel also broadcast Pearson's stinging criticism of Juan Sebastian Veron, when he said during a phone-in: "To spend £28million on a midfielder when we needed other departments strengthening, I think, was a mistake.
"We should try and get our money back and sell him because I don't think he's good enough to be a Manchester United player when we have everybody fit.'' Club officials are trying to solve the embarrassing rift before the weekend so MUTV can continue interviewing Old Trafford stars for its 70,000 subscribers, although it is unlikely Pearson will ever again appear on the channel.
MUTV was first broadcast in 1998. United were the first club to have its own dedicated station broadcasting to the world.
The six hours programming per day includes live, half-hour bulletins in which MUTV staff are allowed access to all aspects of the club, from coverage of the ladies team to all of their Premiership matches.
The row is the latest in a series of run-ins between Fergie, the media, and even shareholders in the club - heightened by some poor league results.
Only last Friday the manager came under fire at United's annual meeting when a shareholder said he should have quit when he promised last summer, and taken Veron with him. The BBC's John Motson was also subjected to a Fergie walkout when he had inquired about United captain Roy Keane being sent off three times in 14 games.
"You're out of order...right, that's the interview finished,'' stormed Fergie.
"I don't want to f***ing watch it. Cancel it. F***ing make sure that does not go out.''"
I'm surprised it didn't also mention his 'own' newsletter that is sent out, as it has far more stinging criticism by the fans in it. To pick on Pearson is unfair, most ex-players and managers on it have said similar or implied similar, and even Clayton Blackmore, who's a staunch defender, accepts the need for a 4th striker, that our squad isn't what it was and that Veron struggles in the Premiership. I suppose ex-players like Pearson are just ABU's though, and will be treated like Kidd and Schmeichel...
