Can't believe the bad luck we've had with injuries. I think we've really missed him in the last two league matches.

I agree. I've always said we needed a back up for Keano and Nicky Butt.

You and me both
Most PL teams have two midfield ball winners in their first XI. The ones that come to OT at the moment seem to have about 6.

In an interview with ITV, Fergie said 4 to 5 weeks, maybe longer.

Well frankly, I'm a tad miffed.
We bolloxed up the end of the season b4 last by playing youth to give them a chance etc.
What a waste of time that was, because none of them are getting an opportunity now despite the injury situation. And at the time, most of us knew that the players who were thrown in, were never going to make the first team anyway.
If Stewart - a Scottish international - isn't going to get a chance now, he never will.

my sentiments exactly, IMO SAF doesn't seem to believe the likes of pugh, tierney, stewart, or even Chadwick can pull us out of situations such as these... It's odd because he had a lot of faith in Becks, Gary, Butt, Phil, Scholes not so long ago.. he also showed great interest in bringing JOS and Brown into the team last year...
He has continued to support the players he had faith in, but that seems no longer the case with other youngsters in the team..
Doesn't he believe in our youngsters anymore as he proclaimed to do in his recent interviews?
And also, why are so many of the people in the forum ignoring Stewart as a possible candidate to fill in Butt's shoes for the moment? I think it's excellent opportunity for the kid and it could be much wiser to use him in his favourite position than to use a fullback/winger like Phil out of his position. It could give us a chance to have a look at the upcoming lot of kids more closely also.
Strange!

Now more than ever we need Veron to show us what hes made off..</strong><hr></blockquote>
I really don't think it's going to happen in the league.
Yesterday was yet another example of a good European performance being followed by a dire league one.
Not that anyone played particularly well, but at least we know that most of the team are actually capable of a good game in the league.
