Fergie should get these players off the leash, let them enjoy their football once more. They arent on a mission to find the Holy Grail or Bin Laden, they arent doing a job. Let them play the game with freedom cos right now (and last season, and the season b4 that) thats what they're getting wrong.

I accept defeat, I'm just depressed that the same problems that failed us last season are still there. If anything they were even worse considering the poor team we were up against.

I cant understand it. You could see ZTE scoring today, when they had possesion for ages and ran our midfield ragged - we cudnt get close to the ball at times. I said it before, our team makes everyone else look world class cos we cant bloody tackle. Their unknowns waltzed through our midfield like Zidanes on speed - only our defense kept them ou until our defense had their trademark mess up.

The only thing our midfield does these days is pick up loose passes. They are so pathetic when it comes to defending, its almost like they think "not our job, I'll relax cos the defense will stop em, no danger here"

Our players dont perform, when you dont perform you can lose to every single team you play including the likes of ZTE and West Brom.

In order to perform we need that sense of fight back. We pass and attack without purpose, we dont zip it about, we just sort of approach their box, poke around, probe, sniff. It doesnt suit us and no team wins prizes like that.

We should try to be more like Braveheart than some kind of chess player. We should just go out guns blazing.

I say this cos maybe it will somehow transport itself into Fergie's brain. This team needs setting free mentally, that will unleash the creativity, the enjoyment and the entertainment. I dont want a scenario where City are the most romanic club in the north-west.

Lets hope Fergie can inspire us the way Keegan has City....

It's difficult to understand why Fergie didn't do as he said -- start Nicky Butt alongside Keano. At least this guy can tackle and would definitely have the hunger to prove himself. The millionaire, complacency "world class" midfielders just won't care to make themselves dirty to tackle someone came from a team known as "Zalaegerszegezaleazegeri". Today should be the final wake up call for the under-performers. If they can't respond it with three straight victory against West Brom, Chelsea and Zalag. Fergie should do the strict thing he need to do.

I believe if this underperforming nonsense persists, several players will be sold next summer. And not just the bit players.

If we can't beat Zala in the 2nd leg, we won't need to wait for the next summer for some underperformers to be sold.

According to some of us here, it's a foregone conclusion with at least a 3-0 scoreline for the second leg ;)

Seriously though, all the poor aspects of our play from last season still persists (at least from watching yesterday's match) but it's too late to chop any heads as the season has already kicked off.

I suspect there will be a lot more changes next summer especially if we finish empty-handed again.

It's already kicked off for us last night in case you didn't notice.

Correct me if i`m wrong, but aren`t we meant to be the top team in last night match.

Didn`t see it as i was working nights.

But 4 fxxk sake i`m getting really pissed off with the attitude of this team.

I think Keano is right"Bloody Rolex merchants"

Fergie bought Veron(not that i`m blaming him as i didn`t see the match)to add some latin skill and flair to the team ,so we can waltz round everyone and win the CL again.

BOLLOCKS.

But at the end of the day we have to support the team through thick and thin.

Come on you reds!!!

Yes we all support United and our critize or opinions are meant to be constructive. If I don't support the team I simply won't bother to get angry when our team put up a very poor performance. Fergie is ambitious and always says we should be the top team in Europe and we should win the CL for more than one time. Hope the players and other fans also share the same ambition as him.

I think we have the best squad around. The only problem is they dont enjoy their football anymore, you can see it.

Now its like business rather than football. Theres something that I dont like about the team and the club at the moment. You get a feeling that everything they do is business as usual until we start losing.

i.e. Midfield - no worries, defence will do it, no worries, Ruud/Ole will score before the 91st minute.

Defence - its ok, they wont score, and if they do, we'll score more.

The last time I saw them enjoy their football is when we went beat Deportivo (who fired us up by insulting us) and Tottenham when we had nothing to lose.

No two ways about it, if Fergie fails to get the best out of this incredible team again, he has failed, which is a tragic end really after all the romance.

I cant understand why Arsenal, Liverpool, City have all been playing with spirit and fight whilst our players just look around at each other when disaster strikes.

I was waiting for them to recover over and over last year. Didnt happen tho, lets hope Alex can do something.

Just tell them to forget who they are playing. Forget everything, forget conceding goals, forget the team talk and tactics. Its do or die time. Take the leashes off and let them simply go out and have fun. I think thats the only way we're gonna win anything.

The atmosphere right now is "uh oh we better not feck up or we're dead" which isnt how I feel when I step on a pitch. I dunno how, but he has to get that cavalier attitude back, bring in a talismanic player. anything. Bring in Cantona as a coach. They should be going out to impress, have fun, show off, destroy opponents, but instead they go out and try to live up to the pressure by getting 3 points and that stifles creativity and makes everyone nervous.

There is an old saying in my country, "Estabish a business is difficult, but maintaining a business is even more difficult". Obviously the core of the current team has reached their peak in 1999 and in these three years it is in a continuous down curve. It is not a problem of quality, but is instead a problem of psychology. The players have already won everything in club football and they no longer fight and play with heart like they were a lad.

Fergie has been trying to use "kicks at the back" to motivate them in recent years. Everytime we lost a major game it was said that it was a kick at the back and will make us more hungry. But unfortunately this approach has completely failed now. Just as keano said in his book, now the players are just too weathly and have too much fame that losing a match or two just can't hurt them anymore.

Fergie must do it strict on some players who hasn't played at their acceptable standard for a long time. Too much kindness is harmful for the good of this club.
