SAF is worried that the players might injure each other in training, because they try soooo hard and play real hard in order to get into the team...
Rio says that SAf tells them to 'cool it'
Kinda interesting, nice to see the players try so hard...

From the Daily Record:

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson has told his fired-up players to cool it in training - because he fears a spate of injuries.

Defender Rio Ferdinand revealed Ferguson is scared his expensive array of stars are so desperate to secure a first-team place they are trying too hard in practice.

Ferdinand said: "In training everyone puts in 100 per cent. But the other day the gaffer had to come in and tell us to calm down. With the tackles going in a couple of people got kicks and knocks and had to go inside."

With United still in contention for the Premiership, Champions League, FA Cup and Worthington Cup, the depth and fitness of Ferguson's squad is certain to be tested.

But Ferdinand insisted the training-pitch intensity proved they are highly motivated.

He added: "The adrenalin is pumping and that speaks volumes for what we want to achieve. With the squad we have got everyone is being used and they will have to be used for the remainder of the season.

"At first the gaffer was a lot more laid-back than I thought he would be. But when the season hots up you see another side of him."

Certainly good to hear if you ask me, no signs of complacency or any of that, everyone desperate to get into the side. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />
